The New Short Story
Well the pen and pad was there for me, so I took advantage of having a quiet evening (winding down is the best part of a good day), and began to write out a short story. It’s very erotic, and I dare say that I will push further with the sexuality of the characters. Why? I feel that with the rough draft, I have only begun to explore the characters, and it is their sexuality that the characters have in common.
Of course, I never stop multi-tasking and have so much work to complete now. Still it’s a challenge I love working on. I know I will expand the story once I type out the pages. I need to get on top of this. I need to make a premise for this story though. Something to add from my writing class. Writing becomes so layered this days, in a positive

Spoiled Food
Well, last night I forgot to put the sausage I cooked in the fridge, so it sat on the stove overnight. I knew I couldn't eat it, and threw it away. What's annoying me is that I wasted food. So I vent about this and will remember to not leave anything on the stove tonight.
On a good note, I did not leave the spaghetti on the stove, because I have a pot full of spaghetti goodness. I decided I wanted some cheddar, Parmesan, and mozzarella cheese baked in, so I took it, layered it in a casserole bowl with the cheeses, and baked it until the cheese melted. It tastes so good. Not a difficult process. The spaghetti was done, so it was a matter of wating for the heat to take over.

Ho's, B's, & Porn on This Sweet Morning
While on the highway this chick gets outta the passenger side of the vehicle in the left lane and tells the guy that he can pick up hos on some other street. She was so loud and so close to me, that i had to make sure my windows were up. Don't want to deal with the nonsense others have going on. She then walked through traffic to the sidewalk like no car can hit her ass. WTH? Not what I expected as a way to cap off a sweet morning.
Yesterday there was this woman threatening someone else on the sidewalk while I was driving down the road. She was like "I know where you live, bitch!" Didn't look, didn't get involved, but that is pure chaos.
Today someone tried to get crazy in the building, and was reported to the proper authorities. This doesn't include the people trying to watch porn on the internet today. I gotta say extra prayers to keep myself outta the drama.
People wonder why I love a quiet evening at home on my days off.

My Attitude Adjustment
At first I didn't know why, and then i realized that the heat was just as antagonizing as the people. It really was chipping away at my resolve to help people. I am so glad that cluod has passed, and that there can be some bright spots in my others chaotic days.
Is 50 Cent Bitter?
Back to topic: Check out the article for yourself. 50 Cent believes that Kanye West's label, Def Jam has "fluffed" the sales. He is not pleased. Is this sour grapes, or does he have a point? Stating earlier that he (50 Cent) would be quitting hip-hop as a solo recoding artist if Kanye won in sales. Kanye is leading the way in sales, it seems.
Why A Brother Prefers to Swim in a Pool
This is also why a brother prefers a pool over a lake, pond, or beach. No shark to bite you. No jellyfish to sting your ass. No alligator trying to take a bite out of me. I hope they don't like dark meat anyways, but a brother gots to be safe and sure when he gets into the water.

So Tired
The college bookstore was overrun with students, so I promised myself I would get my book today. Woke up early, but fell back asleep. Woke up to a Jehovah Witness ringing my doorbell. Needless to say I may NEVER answer my doorbell again, yet it was a blessing to get a second, yet unofficial alarm.
This past week has been hell as mainly I have shouldered a lot of things. More importantly I felt I was overwhelmed with duties as I was the only person scheduled for Wednesday night. I'm like c'mon, I have to close all three floors and maintain order? The beginning of the quarter? I felt attacked and let down.
Ate some salad with chunks of chicken, which isn't much. Bought some ribs from the grocery story, but they weren't hitting on nothing. If you want great BBQ, you gotta par boil and bake them yourself. I said tomorrow I will either make a meat loaf or spaghetti, whichever I feel like doing. Hadn't decided yet.

Mom’s Garden Part II
Mom has these miniature roses that I loved taking pictures of. She has pink roses as well. I thought it was a hybrid, but she tells me that it is a separate bush in the same flower pot. They very beautiful to behold.

Mom’s Garden Part I

Back home, Mom transformed her yard, and I reaped the benefits of taking the pictures. I am so in love with the flowers. Still life is my favorite subject in photography. The human figure is the next.
Mom does extensive work every season. One of her flower gardens was surprisingly bare, as she decided to not fool with it in the heat. I don’t blame her, but I love to see the colors and variety she puts into her plants. Soon it will be fall, and knowing her, she will plant some seasonal plants as well.
The SC Aquarium Part 3: The Jellyfish are All Grown Up

Again, thanks to the lovely Discovery Channel, I know that these jellyfish are sexually mature. I know this by the clover shaped pattern they have on the head, which is fully visible. They can mate sometime soon. I hope not to be there when it happens.
Thankfully, these are the strippers of the sea, because they were all about being seen in their window. Or is it peep show performers? They wanted their pictures taken. There were so many divas in this aquarium that didn’t want their picture taken. Here’s the group trying to be provocative and seen. Cheers to these naughty sea creatures. I think your show may be closed down do to indecency standards.

Some More Art For You: Torso/Model on Bed

Both were done back in the day. Both are oil on board, and have held up pretty well. :-)
I did these in my Painting II Class. When I went home I saw them and decided to snap a picture of them. I like both pictures. In looking back, I found a
strong need to render the models in fantastic colors. Of course no one this side of Captain Kirk will encounter (or shag) a green woman, but I felt the colors gave the images a strength I could feel, rather than see directly. Does that make sense to anyone besides me?
This is where I was, and I need to find out where I need to be. Yes I multi-task, but I feel like I'm missing the balance in my life. Art's where its at.
The SC Aquarium Part 2: Piranahz Will Bites Your Azz

My faves at the Aquarium were the piranhas. Did you know there are multiple species of piranhas (Discovery Channel). Not all of them are so aggressively hungry. Think a piranha would be anorexic? The way they eat… They were the best pictures I took, BTW. They intrigue and scare me at the same time. They wanted me to get closer to the tank. I could swear one of them winked and said, "we haven't had a man over for dinner in a while." That one was a maneater. -Oh, bad joke, I know it, but worth it.
Well, it’s not like I’m going to the Amazon River to take a bath in the rivers anytime soon. There are tarantulas (pink tipped) and snakes, and I loathe them, and could not bring myself to take a picture of them. I'm going to have to get over my shortcomings. They were caged, after all.
Homesick and Having the Cure.
P.S. I think I'm making a big pot of Spaghetti this weekend. I need some salad and some garlic bread too.

The SC Aquarium Part 1
The aquarium was ok, but dark as can be. I got so many pictures that I want to share with y’all. Some of those damn fish were downright camera shy. Lots of them decided to go swoosh when I took the picture, thus being blurry. The electric eel needed more space, or did it? No pix, BTW. I wouldn’t touch that fucker. Those bastards could kill an alligator. When people move them, they can still be shocked while wearing rubber gloves. Saw that on Discovery Channel.
Did you know that eels move in schools? I saw that on Discovery Channel too. This alligator attacked one, and found himself surrounded by a gang of eels, shocking the shit outta it. The gator managed to get out of the water, and then growled at them when it was on dry land. He wasn’t going back in there though. The electric eels don’t play. It was a big creature. I would hate to get one mad at me, let alone a school of them.
Didn’t get a picture of the shark or the moray eel. They kinda hid, as if they knew that I was looking to take their picture. Damn divas. These are two animals I would hate to see in the sea. Say this a dozen times: “I see sharks and eels in the sea while swimming.” With my luck if I got away from them, I would swim into a school of barracudas.

Life in Charleston

Hello, it’s been a while since I blogged. I am enjoying my stay in Charleston so much I extended my stay to catch up with my fam & friends. I haven’t had this much fun in such a long time. I forgot all my woes for a short time and can return back home with a sense of strength and energy.
I adopted a plant, and decided to take care of it. I’ll have a picture shortly. I am so stoked by the chance to work at making the plant grow. I feel like a parent. Let’s see if this turns into a nursery of plants within my apartment.
I confess, I hadn’t written much or typed other than some edits. It was time to let then laptop be and explore other possibilities. It’s been sweet. Readers, you can expect me to post some pictures soon. All sorts of fun and good shit got captured via my camera phone and my digital cam. I can‘t wait to post them.
Some Art For You: Bust/Gaze

All images are oil on canvas. I did them a good while back, but saw them with renewed eyes when I went home. I decided to take some snapshots, and post them. There is a lot of stuff, but this is good for now.
The first image is named "Bust" because that's what it reminds me of. The second is called "Gaze," and it depends on who you are talking to, but a few people have told me the painting has religious connotations. I didn't know that. I simply painted. LOL Innate religious translations? Well, if anything reminds me of anything, Bust reminds me of Roman/Greek busts. That's my experience.
Back from Charleston
I missed my people, but dial up is horrible, so I gave up before it started. I got a lot to catch on, so please bear with me as I try to get to everyone.
Did a lot of dating, visits, and activities. I was so busy I forgot all about the dramas in my life.
I'll be posting pictures and entries on my blog shortly. Hope everyone's been cool.

Writing Degrees: Stacy's Reasearch
It's Raining Cats and Dogs
Did a load of laundry today. Why did I wait so long. I had so many clothes, and the big power washer was like $2.50, but it did a hella good job. I accidentally put fabric softener in my khakis. If they dissolve on me while at work, you will be reading the most humiliating post of my life. With my luck my college paper will have a blurb on it. It can't be any worse than when I forgot to put on deodorant, no?
Ordered Chinese (lo mien) because I don't want to cook today. Made some sweet tea and I'm about to have a glass with lemon. I wanna take a hot bath and relax, but I keep thinking I should run around outside in the nude and get a cool shower. Not really, but that water is COLD.

Oh Senator Craig
My questions:
Is he trying to put the "ho." in Idaho? Will the state be changed to "I'm aho? Why did he plead guilty? Why did his foot or hand reach into the other stall? How can someone work with legislature and not understand he entered guilty in a plea? Is he competent or trying to win some obscure comedy award? Did you enter a guilty plea because you felt naughty? Is this a kinky, slap on the wrists, latest fetish for senators? Are the pages passe this year? What's your stand on gay rights? Sorry, someone was screaming irony in my ears.
My Disdain:
Normally I wouldn't clown someone in a bad situation. We all have dog days. Somehow Craig's statements make his actions worse. What alarms me is that he could not clear this up unless he came 100% clean.
At least there was no meth involved. Thank goodness there was only the appearance of infidelity to deal with. Wife humiliation was at an all time low these days.
If you learn anything from this, Senator Craig, you need to remember that you don't fuck around in a Minneapolis airport. Do your business, no cute shit (really Senator cute shit -reaching for paper-stretching your leg while take a dump), and get out. Don't stare in other men's eyes (or a manzes-if that's the case). You know. ;-) Maybe you don't.
Let's take him with some face value. Ok, you're not gay Senator Craig. Are you a MSM? They don't think they're gay either. Hey the hand was caught, but not in the "cookie" jar. Let's hope your family can handle the stress and trails, because they can use some relief.
For those not in the loop this is a parody, and not a news program. I felt like letting loose with some silliness.

This Is Why I Rock
Oh Yeah!
This gives me an afterglow. I need a smoke, and to bask in the success. My ambitious late night paper writing was so worth the struggle. I was so worried about the citation. BTW I rocked my presentation. I knew I could, with the right amount of research and TLC.
Next class will be, intro to writing for stage and screen (preliminary course). Lets see if a brother can turn this class out, because if he can't, he wasn't trying. If a brother ain't trying, then he needs to get out of the game. Let me let you know, I want my master's degree. I'm gonna have it, so you may expect my resume to have MFA in my education slot loud and proud.
Let me add that personal victories are so sweet. Sweeter than wine. More intoxicating than the buzz wine gives. Richer than the ripest grapes pluck from the great vines. Personal victories makes all the struggle and worrying worth going through. Imagine how deflating it is to commit to something, and watch it slip through your hands. That's a bitter pill to swallow.

My Meltdown
I was having a bit of my own meltdown when I found out my MFA program, Contemporary Writing was phased out for a new program called "Professional Writing." Contemporary has only been around for a year, and I was ready to get into my classes. Well, I didn't know what the complete changes were, and unfortunately, since the change recently happened, not too many details were finalized. "Meltdown" seems as tame as to what I felt.
As to why I ignored my own judgment. Well, s bit of my confidence was eroded. I was proud I belonged to a program I am so willing to back. Peeps were telling me, "Stacy, you could get into speech writing, work for campaigns. Maybe you could get into scriptwriting, and create TV shows." You just got to love growing potential and interest in your chosen area of studying. I could feel my budding career slipping away from me.
Let me let you know that I put out a spectacular portfolio to get into the contemporary writing program. My portfolio was a mix of fiction and non-fiction pieces I worked on. I only needed twenty pages; I gave twenty-nine (with a max of thirty).
Mystery Men

The "Mystery Men" was done around the same time. I rather love these images. I never looked back at them, and called them mystery men because That's who they are to me. Like shadows or ghosts. beings we cannot take full hold of, yet they are in our lives. Evolution is strong because it was the first. It's twin, which I did mixed media on, is somewhere in my collection. I need to find and take it's picture so you can see it. Clearly my adventures in monotypes was taking shape. I love the rich blacks I created.
A woodblock, I call "The Movement," will be shown at a later date, but had I not done the "Mystery Series," I would not have made room for the "Movement."
Evolotion Is It's Name

Evolution is the name of this monotype. It came to me, along with a set of "mystery figures" while trying to work out a theme. My printmaking skills are limited, and in hindsight I wish I did more to develop them, but I love the expressive qualities of the prints I did. You'll be seeing more, shortly.

One Good Reason…

Can anyone give me one good reason I am still not picking up my pastels or charcoal and working my passions out on Mi Tiens drawing paper?
Some things are lost to me, and yet here presents a moment to reflect on what I do have.
Look at this art. I am in awe. I suppose a divorce between me and the art has happened. I can look at my art and for better or worse and know I can go higher.
What can I say, in retrospect, and looking at my work, I see something I like in the work. There’s a sense of energy and passion so strong, and unyielding to others. I never made art to represent anyone. I needed a release, and the opportunity to set my energy free.

Adventure, Drama, Pain, Fun
I had to get up early for some mandatory benefits meeting. After the night shift, all I wanted to do is sleep, and then i felt that pressure on my jaw, like a jackhammer. I had to run my errands, and that was on the uncomfortable side. Spent too much money in the grocery story, and now I am pissed, yet I know I should be able to make dinner for the foreseeable future.
I need to have my car checked. My Mom asked me how many miles I had on it, I said around 65,000. She was like she was positive I had more than that (the car's a 2001, and I had it since 2002). Needless to say I don't go too many places. if I trade it in, I hope the low milage will be a plus.
Need to go away and write my paper that I should have done sooner, but when you feel beat, what do you do.
P.S. My friend Earlene got married today. I went to the wedding, and had a good time, danced and ate. I'm happy my friend is happy.

Erotic Super Heroes
The Writing Fool I Am
The paper is on the representation of masculinity in contemporary art. This was harder than I thought, and my initial paper was on the human figure in contemporary art. I wanted a challenge, more so than the female figure, which is always discussed, and wondered if I a writer, artist, and man could look at the role of masculinity, and see what I offered to the medium, and discuss the works of other artists.
Interestingly, female artists creating representatives of men, are mainly photographers. I found there were a lot more female photographers, and more male painters. I will also be showing several pieces of my own artwork to discuss my own interpretations of masculinity. I need to put the presentation and the paper together by this weekend so I can edit it proper.

Writing...
Began having ideas, and implementing them on a few scripts I was working on. One of them was a short story I thought to expand into a mini series. Why? Well I have more to write with these characters. What was six pages is now nine. Likewise I have the impulse to write more on other stories I abandoned and have since reclaimed. I tell you, I am so unorthodox in my method. Still, when I get to it, I work it. I can't slow the flow down.
I have a few ideas I may handwrite tonight, if I don't get to my 'puter. I'm feeling that giving to the writing.

Gotta Work On Me
The questions remain:
- What do I, Stacy R. Haynes want out of life and for my life?
- How will I achieve my goals?
- Where do I want to be now, and in the future?
- Just how do I define myself, and how do I want to be perceived by myself and others?
- Why do i think I can't have fun and be serious?
Not For Nothing
Anywhoo she goes on and on, and quite frankly I was spent. I was like, Mom calm down. I have the receipt for the ticket. That wasn't good enough. She called me back after I got off the phone with her to tell me not to speed. I laughed, becuase she was like doing that irritating Mom thing, like when she says don't forget to season your food. Mom, really? Forget to season my food? I laugh at myself sometimes. It's all small stuff.

For this photo, I trimmed the images size and adjusted the levels and colors in photoshop. No filters or other effects are applies.

The Phantom Menance
Tired...
I have been working six days a week, and I really ready to pull back on that. No matter how much the "team needs" I can't do it, and a friend has a wedding coming up soon. I don't want to look like ragged death at her wedding. Lord, it would look like a zombie made it to the party. Class is going well, but I really need a day to not do anything. No emails, no bill paying, Just a movie or two, that may watch me more than I watch them.
Tomorrow I have to do all my errands, and go to the grocery store, and cook (I am so using the crock pot tomorrow). I wanted to buy a new phone, as its time to upgrade. Tonight I'm so drained and a migraine has come along.
Enough indulging in the pain. I will mellow out for the rest of the night, then close up shop, and I am going HOME to rest.
My Art VIII
This is a triptych I did a while back. For those who have seen previous work, it resides next to the "blue dress," which hangs on my wall. This is oil on gessoed watercolor paper. I did these three at the same time, so the colors match without me trying to mix for the right combo again. LOL I hated when that happened. My professor thought the characters were dancing. I dig the colors a lot. They have an energy that I cannot explain, but they are amazing. I do think all of my drawings and paintings are real personal. They have a way of revealing things without saying it. ASIDE; Took a trip to two galleries and saw paintings priced $30,000 (let me let you know it didn't look like it was worth $30.00 to me).
My brother said I should be displaying my own works. Michael Tyzack would want me too (he didn't say that, I just miss my professor.

Churgle: The Movie
Made my chicken Alfredo too rich, as my stomach is battling with me. It started churgling (churning+gurgling=churgling-I love Stacy math). Next thing you know I was in the bathroom. Thank God I was in the privacy of my own apartment. One never wants to be anywhere if you start churgling. Made sure to stock up on Lactaide, and Pepto. yes I did. A brother can't put himself out there without some backup. Like the movie cops in a shootout, and his partner has to cover him.
In my defense I OD'ed on the milk products. Sunday I had Ben & Jerry's, and garlic bread topped with mozzarella & cheddar. Too much milk product. Again, like movie cops, a brother played the maverick, and went in without his backup. A brother got tagged but good. He payed the price for his disregard for the rules. Thou shall not fuck around with the milk products.

Chicken Alfredo, the Dinner!
So, I decided that I would cook, after running some errands and having an extra class section on final papers (12-15 pages-yes I know, bring on the drama). At first, I thought I was going to buy some fast food, but changed my mind. I decided that I should cook. Went to the grocery store, and bought the ingredients for chicken Alfredo. It was either that or spaghetti. Let me tell you how it’s done.

Her Virtue Roughened © Stacy R. Haynes
"You like that, eh?" He said while smiling. "Nobody's around. It's just you and me." He was nearly drooling with satisfaction. She regained her senses and turned her head away from him. Even his cologne began to repulse her. She pushed away with great force. Her blouse ripped in the process.
"Back off!" She said. "Nobody manhandles me." She was a tigress, ready to strike.
Harold's eyes were as cold as a lump of coal and fixed upon Eve as he walked up to her. She didn't cower. She didn't back down. She didn't see his hand as it hit her so hard across the face. She saw stars for a second. She felt his arms on her shoulders again.
"Don't you ever pull away from me!" He demanded, as he violently shook her. She could smell stink of the Scotch on his breath. She felt ill, as he pulled her close and forced his tongue down her throat. She felt the disgusting taste of his spit, kneed him in the nuts as hard as she could.
He broke off his bear hug, letting go of her. He fell to his knees, shocked out of breath, and holding his crotch for dear life. Tears swelled in his dark eyes.
"You dumb broad, I'll kill you!" He huffed out in a higher pitched voice. He didn't see it, but he felt the full weight of a vase crashing against the back of his skull. He fell face forward onto the floor. He was out cold.
"Son of a bitch!" Eve shouted, trying to compose herself. She touched her face where he slapped her. It stung like crazy. She grabbed her compact to check herself out. Her face was red, with the shape of his hand on her face. "Oh God." She moaned. "I hate fucking temp jobs." She gathered her things and left.

Second short story has mutated. I did this one a while ago and sat on it for a long while. This is a fantasy-based story, and I think I can add it to my novel, which is also fantasy based. I don't know yet, but the short story has a life of its own. I need to be able to find the direction for it. It's a wild voice right now, in need of some direction.
The erotic short story. OMG What have I gotten myself into? It's very racy, at some points raunchy, and I feel a need to leave it alone for a while and return after I get over my conservative voices yapping in my ear. I'm feeling real dorky about now. So out of my comfort zone, which I wanted. I feel a strong need to finish what I started.
The comics. The comic scripts. I am so knee deep in the scripts. New four-issue comic to complete, among the several scripts (I worked on their first chapters), and a sequel to the first comic. It seems I have become a writing fool.

Art
Time is...
Do I have dinner for work today? I don't know. I'm not spending and cash this week (I hope) on eating out. I am rather upset, and feel a little hectic. About to get off line and relax. Did I mention I have a discussion tomorrow, so I have to do some research on this as well. Thank God I'm only taking one class. A friend is taking two, and she is even more stressed from the classes alone.

Self Portrait

Playing with Photoshop again, which is a pastime of mine. Love the effect, and it looks lovely. I seem to be capturing my more quieter, pensive moods of late.

Kill That Noise
Last night, after getting into bed, and drifting asleep, I was awakened to the lovely sounds of one of my neighbors’ bass heavy stereo. Said neighbor invited friends, and commenced to party like no one else lived in the nearby apartments.
It was after 1:00 AM, and I needed my sleep. I tried not to be aggravated, and I tried to ignore them, but the more they partied, the louder the music became. I could deal with loud people, but the bass was all in my place. Even worse, it was like a loop of songs with the same or similar beats going. It was relentlessly annoying.
Y'all know if I did that mess, the neighbor would be upset, right? Enough was enough, and I called the cops. Honestly, my neighbor was all about disrespecting other people. It was all about their good time. Well things quieted and I was able to go back to sleep, after a while. I know if it happens again, I am calling the cops again, because the apt manager seems neutered on this.
