It's a Sunday and I told myself to get out of the house for a drive, and I did that. Of course while on the road I had all sorts of thoughts I couldn't write down because I was driving, but I'd have to remember them for when I returned home. Decided that I'm not having my Sunday latte mainly cause I drank too much sweet tea yesterday and that would lead to a caffeine OD. The detox part is murder. I need to drink a couple more bottles of water just the same. Love my drinks, but moderation balances me out. Did I mention it was hot outside. Savannah is all sorts of muggy and it always feels like it's flattening me as well as making me sweat.
I got new tires last year, but I'm a bit worried about having to replace them, cause if i do, where's that money coming from? I don't have it. I just overspent for repairs to the battery and alternator that were quite ugly to my bank account. It hurts to think about this, but one can't turn away. Bills need to be paid, and thinking of my future is more than important. You never know with cars and repairs today doesn't prevent another issue. Will keep it in mind, and allow it to pass. No need to panic for something that hasn't happened.
Needed to be more creative yesterday, but I found myself with a headache and neck pain. It's been part stress and part bad sleeping. At least today there was no neck pains, which made it perfect for driving. it's that nasty ache that won't go away and I feel like it takes forever for medicine to kick in. Also congestion please go away. I need to drink more water for sure at this point. I hate that feeling in the back of my throat. When I get insurance again I'm having this check out cause there MUST be a way to be done with this. It's time to keep on writing, so much luck, love, and success to those striving.

Joyride
Decided I needed to get out of the apartment, so I got up and took a ride. It was initially supposed to be a trip to the grocery store, but since it was so early, and I didn't plan on anything other than buying food, I took a drive. It cleared my head of the cobwebs, and got me relaxed and I enjoyed that quick getaway. Now I'm back home and by my last post you know I'm cooking. I'm praying Sunday stays productive.

My Thursday With Maury
Last week I found out that my brake lights were completely out. A driver was kind enough to pull up to me and let me know. I was embarrassed. They were BOTH out. Driving like that can be a nightmare. I needed this handled ASAP!
For my piece of mind, the remedy meant a visit to Pep Boys and having to wait while they service my ride. I got up early so I could beat the crowd and get done quicker. I always think I'm being smart when in fact, the universe had other plans. The break room at Pep Boys was incredibly minimalistic, complete with some plastic chairs and a TV on none other than the Maury Povich show. For those who have never seen it, count yourself blessed by the grace of the Lord. I was more than positive I didn't need to see another DNA test show ever in my life. The guests were ridiculous, loud, and ignorant.
I found myself, in spite of my headphones hearing all that garbage that goes onto the show. I was not happy. Another hour passed and there was this reality show on. Didn't give a damn what it was about. All I know is that people were cussing and yelling at each other. It was annoying and I kept my headphones going. At this point the chairs was hurting my ass, and I really needed to be done. Finally Judge Joe Brown was on, and I needed to get outta there.
OMG it took forever for them to ring me up. I didn't even care. I knew I was gonna have some time management crunches to get some food, and get ready for work. Any day that I start with Maury really is a hurtful day. Guess what? I endured. It was a crappy, crappy set of time waiting for my ride to be repaired. I LOATHED the moments that came along. I made it through.
I have to be honest. Having to sit through Maury and the waiting turned me off 100%.

Today
I wanted to sleep late today. It just so happens that I needed the rest. My vehicle however had other plans for
me. My brake lights went out. At first I thought I could replace the
bulbs, however I found out that it may be a wiring issue. That is never too good. I dunno how much this will cost
me.
I do know that I can’t drive without the brake lights, so
now I feel a bit trapped. My poor
ride. I love this car and I want
it to last, however it’s slowly falling apart. I need for it to grow with me not against me. It’s like a really bad teen right
now.

Thesis Day
It's good because my mind is on my thesis, and that meant getting an introduction page done, and getting the pages to follow. The first few pages are all about defining a B-Film and its history. My next step is to let the pages cool off.
Got the oil changed today and that was a smooth process. I'm glad I decided to not wait for the weekend for this one. Sometimes it's too crowded and uncomfortable on the weekend. it feels like a nasty chore then. Better to get up a little early, get it done today and be done. I do have a few more errands to run but that can't happen today.
Let's see what else I can get done. I do know I need a meal. LOL

If It Smells Like Horse Pee Outside...
Yesterday went outside, and I was like, damn it smells like horses peed all over the streets. OK I love downtown, and the historic district, but you have to be careful where you step. Horse carriages are all over the place. No sooner that when I got to my ride, I kept hearing a splash, and mind you it didn't rain, and there was no random hose in the middle of the road spraying water. Looked around, and saw cars running through this puddle of water, but that ain't water. Right in the crosswalk too. Ugh! Ugh!
OMG I just felt sick. I purged it outta my head by time I got home. Darn hot, muggy summer day and horses. :-(

Travel Safety and My Foolishness (12/25/06)
NOTE: I wrote several of my entries in Word, as I was not online for the past few days, and decided to post them when I returned home. I missed blogging. Good to be away and return to it as well.
OK, I did something really stupid on my way to Charleston. I did not check the air in my tires. Well, the simple guy in me says why check them, they’re fine. So there I was an hour into my trip, when the thought burdened me that I didn’t check my tires. Then I saw strips of various tires in the road, and skid marks from other cars. I was like; do I know where I am, and if I had signal strength to call someone if my tire blows?
Well, I decided to pull over to the next gas station I saw, and I filled the tires with air. Well I needed that piece of mind, and two of my tires needed air. Not like they were flat or flabby, but it was visible that they needed air when I filled them. I could take my mind off of shredded tires and being “lost” on my way home. Yes, that was a stupid move on my part. I am thankful there was a solution to my foolishness.
Yes, God looks after his rather foolish child.

Wake Up Mr. H.!
Woke up early again, and it was a struggle. It would have felt so much better if I slept until i felt like waking. This time to run the errand of getting the oil changed in my ride. Well, I loathe early mornings, but I didn't want to wait too late to get to the shop, lest I wait for hours, and I can't have that happening. I snapped a self-portrait in the lobby while waiting. I adjusted the colors in Photoshop, as it was too bright. I had that bleached out look for so early in the morning. Lostsa of good sunlight outside today.Dude was in the lobby arguing with the mechanic. I must applaud the mechanic's calmness in the face of adversity. That's the major difference in customer service that makes or breaks your day. Some people will argue if you say the sky is blue. The argument so could have gone to another level. Glad it didn't. Drama in the morning is so not worthwhile.
Promised myself to do some serious writing, so I have to keep this promise. Of course, the idea machine that I am, I have much MORE ideas, so I'm getting those down too. Glad to be home and work on my projects. Also I feel good writing a blog entry longer than five sentences.

Much Needed Rest
I went to sleep, and I have to say that was time well spent. What I was really thankful for is that I had the sense to close ALL the blinds in the house before I dosed off. It was bright outside when I went to dreamland, but pitch dark when I work. It was nice to not have to hustle, but to sleep and relax my mind and body.
I promise myself to get my oil changed sometime between now and Tuesday. it pays to hand the oil changes before that damn change oil light rears its ugly head. I am pleased that it works, but its not my favorite thing to see on my ride.

Visiting the Dearlership For My Ride's Repairs

This is me at Pep Boys a few days ago, before they told me they couldn't replace the hazzard switch in my car. They made me watch all of The Rachel Ray Show like it was ok or something. (I jest RR fans-don't hate me I still love 30 Min Meals). Let me tell you the waiting room could use a little cleaning. I thought if I stayed any longer I would have bought some bleach and wiped it down myself. Those who know me know I don't clean unless its real dirty. UGH!
Ok, I went to sleep late last night, and I got up early to visit the dealership and get my car serviced proper. I needed to replace the hazard light, and I made myself awaken to do it. If I didn't I would be so sorry. You see, I mentioned earlier how my blinkers stopped blinking. I couldn't make left or right signal turns. I was so distressed on the road.
I have always had the benefit of signals. I felt so vulnerable on the road, as I knew I was being risky without signals. I limited my driving time greatly. I was upset that I was on the road like that. What if an accident occurred. Well, thank God that problem is over. Talk about happy. I felt like a million bucks! Yeah, I know, I am a spaz for loving my signal, but I missed a simple function. You never appreciate something until you loose it.
Saturn did me good, I can't hate on them as they got down to business. I listened in the lobby to my iPod (Exodus by Utada rocks), and in 30 mins they were like "Mr. Haynes you're good to go." They cleaned my car, and I didn't even recognise it. ROFLMAO!!! I shamed myself. it looks so clean. Gotta love the efficiency. Last time I went to Saturn, I couldn't give a flip about a car wash, I spent over $500.00! I was grumbling all the way home.
Got home and went to lay down. There was no need in staying awake. Between "Divorce Court" and "Judge Mathis" I fell asleep. Woke up and tried the Sumatra coffee. When people said bold and spicy I was expecting a kick. its strong, but I wanted some fire down my throat. LOL Like I'm drinking peppers right? ;-) it was good though, I can't lie. Gotta love good coffee.
