Busy Again

Yesterday I found myself getting up very early to take care of some errands, which was shorter than expected, but productive nonetheless. I did have time to come home, take that cat nap, and feel good about the rest of the day. Ordered dinner (Chinese), because I didn't want to cook. I didn't even make the breakfast I wanted (pancakes). Blame it on enjoying the moment. I do know i don't have to cook today.

Doing laundry today. Hopefully I won't have to spend any more quarters today. I had two loads of clothes. In spite of getting more quarters, I suspect I will need more for the upcoming meter feeding I will be doing for classes. :-( Work should be fine. I only need to feed the meter for an hour, but its always a costly hours. Two hour meters are the worse.

Running Game

You ever been in a situation where you know someone's trying to deceive you, but you don't have proof? Yet, in your heart and mind, you know that person(s) is trying to run a game? Knowing the person can look you in the eye and pretend to care about your day. Imagine if your suspicions were validated. That can feel like Christmas. No, I am not imagining things, someone is going around with the foolishness. Even better is when you feel so good you don't have to call the person on their bullshit. You know how small and petty they were being, and its time to move on. Makes a weekend sweet, no? Mine sure is.

Storming Cats & Dogs

Yesterday, while at work, it stormed cats and dogs. The wind was on the furious side and could force rain under one's umbrella. Needless to say I was like I hope it calms down because there is no way I'm driving in those conditions. Of course it did, and on my way home there are always road diva who have to speed in wet conditions. I had to be extra defensive in driving. I know I can't stop on a dime, and I loath a dumb ass who drives so quick to cut in front or weave through traffic. I'm trying to get home, not get mangled over some moron's lack of control.

Overthinking

Sometimes I overthink things. No need to elaborate. I need to do more. I have writing ideas.

*grabs pen and paper to write things out*

A Writing Theory...

I am simply wondering if I could make comic book stories based on fine art. That is to say the subject and emotive quality comes from fine art/ideals as opposed to hero/villains. Mind you, I love a good superhero title. I want to try some different things. It means working on topics outside the scope of what I am currently reading. I am so digging on the idea of fine art and sequential art merging. Let's dispense with the consequences. This is planning and theory.

My Fess Up Moment II

Well, who am I?
I am an artist with the desire to be free of all things that constrain me.

What do I like?
I like being creative, and daring. Don't need nobody to tell me what to do or how to feel.

What do I want to do?
I want to paint some pictures and scenes. Try new things, and forget the nonsense.

I am rebelling, aren't I?
It's never too late. I ain't made for nothing.

My Fess Up Moment I

I thought I would never post this. I'm rather embarrassed, and consider myself to be very vulnerable about this topic, but I think it's worth it. Please bear with me. If anything, I hope to purge the negativity from my mind, body, & soul.

Today I was talking with one of my students, and showed her the scant amount of art on my blog. She's a painting MFA major. I am contemporary writing. I wanted to get into painting, but was rejected, along with 6 or 7 other colleges. I was not made for the academic painting MFA program, or they were not progressive enough for me. Either way that crushed my spirit. I really took that to heart.

I showed my student some of the graphic design work I did. She said to me, "you don't have to work at the library, you can get a better job." She's right. If I believe I am a great writer & an artist, why not a web designer? Why don't I see myself for who I am?

Only a few people know this, but as a child, while in school, I was told constantly I was "stupid," and "not worth anything." Coupled with being 100% uncool, I really became who teachers and peers said I was. I felt stupid, in spite of reading literature, mythology, and comics as a child. It goes on, but I prefer not to dredge it all up. Needless to say, preteen, and teen years were AWFUL.

Somewhere inside my heart I still feel unworthy in spite of knowing and living contrary to what they said. I have to find a way to get over all the BS people put on me, because I know I'm not that person, and they were wrong.

How much change can I make for myself. I really need to see myself as I really am, and not hold onto the bad perceptions.

If It Smells Like Horse Pee Outside...

Yesterday went outside, and I was like, damn it smells like horses peed all over the streets. OK I love downtown, and the historic district, but you have to be careful where you step. Horse carriages are all over the place. No sooner that when I got to my ride, I kept hearing a splash, and mind you it didn't rain, and there was no random hose in the middle of the road spraying water. Looked around, and saw cars running through this puddle of water, but that ain't water. Right in the crosswalk too. Ugh! Ugh!

OMG I just felt sick. I purged it outta my head by time I got home. Darn hot, muggy summer day and horses. :-(

Mary J Blige- Be Without You

What I Want From My Art Part 2

God did not make any of us for nothing. Proactive lives are what we should aspire to. Sitting back and waiting for change is no longer a luxury I wish to indulge in.

What I want from my art is the chance to explore. Find the quality in readings and images that I have often sought from other artists & writers. I am all about working harder to be the writer/artist I wanted to be. Not for others, but to express myself. I know that there is strength and power in us all, and its not wrong to demand quality out of our lives, and in the products we consume. We are more than the future. We are the trailblazers.

I encourage all of my friends to aspire to a proactive life because life is truly too short to waste on the foolishness. We are strong, beautiful people, and if we don't work on ourselves, who is? We deserve the finer things in life. We can't fail if we keep up the hard work. I know I will be sacrificing much, but I know that if I don't do the hard work, I will never go anywhere in life.

What I Want From My Art Part 1

I was thinking about my projects, and how unfocused I have been. Granted, there are various outside elements grating on my nerves, stressing me, and I haven't been feeling well, but I have never stopped creating. My crafts have gotten minimum attention, and that, to me is wrong. It doesn't help that I have trouble focusing often. Being grounded (focused) is hard work, and I always come back to what I love. I would like to be more in my element. I have power here. I have satisfaction that is deeper than my job (forgive me work studies I love y'all, but my art is at the top of my list).

Initially, my foolish mind told me that I was too indecisive, and that I can't pick one project to give attention to proper. I was so wrong. Someone once advised me to be proactive in my work. That is stop waiting for change, go out and get the project done. It doesn't matter if I make a list or not. What I need to do what I get to work. Prioritize my actions, and make them work.

Taking stock, I am about to jump into my MFA program, and I'm feeling doubtful. Doubtful of my skills as an artist and a writer. What happened to me? OMG I let myself go without a fight. Let go like a whisper in an empty theater. That's my fault, and I am learning from my wrongs, as well as my goods.

It's like I didn't put my MFA portfolio together (29 pages of written samples, when I only needed 20, thank you very much). Well, who wrote it? I did? Who showed their ambition to secure the goal. I did. I can't keep doubting my gifts. One day I may find them gone, wishing I had used them when I had them. I am more than capable of doing it all.

TUNGRY

I am so tired and hungry, thus I have created a new word, "tungry," to describe my situation. Working early is nice, but my internal clock is so off, and I have my projects, which are being sidelined as my body and mind have yet to compensate proper. Its chaos on my nerves. Coffee ain't doing a darn thing for me. I need to quit playing and hit Starbucks up for a latte. I do. This coffee is like sissy weight in the stimulates category. ;-)

I have learned that I can be extra pleasant in the morning. I answer calls so kindly, not that I haven't before, but early morning tends to bring out some things in me I like. The customer service training I once had, has made me automatically greet people with empathy and care. What the heck happened to my grouch morning personality? LOL It took a hike.

Need to line up my projects proper. Type them out, write them down, but they need to be organized.

EDIT: I took Clariton this morning because my eyes were burning ,as were my nostrils. This may have made me more sluggish, as it always does when I reintroduce it to my system. My eyes were on fire this morning. So much on fire that I was afraid to put my contacts in, as the tough of the lenses irritated my pupils. I hate my allergies and their lack of timing.

I was ready to call in today, because without the contacts, I have no true visibility. Can't drive in that condition. Fortunately all is well, and the Clariton is doing its job, and making me tired in the process.

Busy Litttle Bee

I am doing some research for a series of drawings I'm working on. Yes, I know, I'm insane for starting yet another devote time to project, but it makes me feel good, as opposed to that blank, do nothing feeling life can bring on. This includes writing more stuff. Yes it does. I need to write more. I feel it in my bones, and I have to put pen to paper.

OD'ing on Mary J. Blige. Initially I "lost" my My Life CD and Share My World when I moved. I broke down and bought them again. So now I am all on those CD's like a cheap suit. Something about Mary's voice and personality that has evolved into a mature, beautiful woman. I feel compelled to listen to her music.

I Must Be Feeling Good...

...I felt the strong need to blog. Did much handwriting out ideas for stories. This reminds me to email a good friend. I have been feeling blue with work stress, but I am so over that. I prayed for God to give me the strength to get rid of the negative thoughts. I have to thank J for listening to me vent about that mess. LOL The drama has left me. Prayer and good friends rule. I'm gonna run off and do my emails, and write out some more ideas because I so need them written as opposed to sulking and wishing I did them. I may even cook today.

Thanks God. Thanks J.

This Week In My Life...

...Has been trying. OMG where do I start? What do I give away, or keep inside. I am purging my mind body and soul from the dramas of working, personalities, and crazed-out neighbors. This weekend was made for me trying to chill. Otherwise I will retain the drama, and explode. That's not going to happen. Yes, I'm vague, because I can't put it all out there. I also don't want to put this shit in other people's heads either. Foolishness.

A Dose of Craziness

Yesterday I wanted some chicken, and decided to hit up the fast food place. Spicy chicken of course. Y'all know I like a little heat, and mild can be very wimpy. LOL Here's what happened. I drove through the drive through, and noticed the front side of the store had rain damage. Here's the worst part. They were propping that side with some planks. Planks! I was like what if it falls onto an oncoming vehicle or patron? I would have taken a picture, but i feel like It was too embarasing to post.

Where Was I...

It was one of those days. I managed to get the paperwork I needed completed (than goodness).
Trying to make some files in Excel. I'm so not good with that. You just know it. There was a power outage. That's twice in six days. Not my idea of a good time. I want to eat something, then fill out some more paperwork (more importantly), put it in the mail. How else am I gonna get it to the right people.

Tired

Woke up extra early. LOL I loathe that. Should have ironed my clothes the night before. Felt so lazy though out the day. Did lotsa work. had work added to the menu (will sort that mess out tomorrow). The fur is flying in a bad way. Had a Whopper and some nasty onion rings for dinner. I'm going to lay down until its time to go to bed. Lets hope a good movie is on or its Batman Begins on DVD tonight.

Today Is...

A little dry. Fell asleep watching the Tim Burton batman movie. I liked it, but I wasn't so into it. it did bring back memories. I was in high school when that came out. Spent last night looking at CSI: Miami. Hadn't seen that episode before (love my "In Demand" features). All I can say is that in crimes, a lot of it seems like your friend is setting you up for the fall. Damn. No love for your buds in crime fiction.

In two weeks I'll be back in class. I am nervous and excited. ohhh this is going to be an event. I hope I enjoy it. Art History is a class I don't care too much for, but is necessary.

National Punch An Emo Day :(

Funny

Fun With Power Outtages

The power went out on me last night. A large section of the south side had no power. News says it was a "spark and heat" that caused the outage. Why is it that when the power goes out, it feels like the sun does this massive retreat posthaste? It got dark so fast I thought Savannah Electric controlled the sun as well. Damn, I was getting it for a low cost too. Now I know what people are talking about when they say their bill is sky high. ;-)

I was safe in my place. I had candles, & flashlights. Got me a cold drink before the ice became water. Well, no internet, no television, no anything. I do need to buy a small, battery operated radio. Something for emergencies. I did manage to handwrite some paragraphs out for my short story. Yes I did. I promised myself to keep working it until I get an ending. No more "go backs."I was lazy and neglected to charge my phone. Luckily I have a car charger for such emergencies. :-) Should have charged the ipod because it was so darn quiet. My Nintendo DS had a charge, so I played Mario Kart & Meteos to pass the time. Of course, my hands are too big for the controller, and they get cramped. :-(

Uh-Oh, my other neighbors are having one of those "love to hate you" spats. He's so loud, its embarrassing. Does he really have to tell her to get The f**k out in the pouring rain?

Of course power is on now. :-) Yaaaay. My food in the fridge will not get spoiled. I feel exhausted. I wanted to clean my place. There is always tomorrow. That is what I said about charging my iPod, y'know. Life lesson?

Exausted

I went to work, and did my thing. Last day of the quarter, and its been on the rough side! People rushed in to return their books, and it was overwhelming. Worked solo for the night, which was rather ugly because I don't multi-task three floors so well solo. On top of that, some of the people didn't want to leave.

I Can Work This Out

Decided that I needed to expand on a comic book short story I was doing for an anthology, but was stalled. Going for four issues, and hoping to get at least the first issue done this weekend.

Wrote out some dialogue/script, and expanded the cast list. Discovered my initial cast list pales in comparison what I wrote in the script. Let me just say, it pays to complete the story then go back sometimes. The initial cast list is a guideline.

I have been longing to expand this story for my own purposes. I want to have a additional story to work on, while I work out the other volumes for the six issue series. This story is getting interesting. I intend for this story to be just as good as the first series I was working on. :-) It gets me all excited to write. I'm such a little kid with my writing. LOL Everyday could be Christmas, sort of. LOL

EDIT: I have another scene that's been in my head for a while, and I need to get it on paper. It's about a confrontation that two characters have long needed to have. I am so relishing this scene because in spite of not writing it when it first popped into my head, I swear, its as fresh as when I conceived it. So relishing this moment, and this scene. I am ready to call some peeps and pick their brains for some info (research). Yeah, it's that important to me to give the scene some impact.

Write Now...

I started writing s'more, but I lack focus (again). I'm too rapid fire. And I have a lot I want to do. my blood sugar dropped, and now I am truly spazzed, and lost for thought. Not the best time for being creative. It's quite a draining. Ate some crackers real quick. May need to eat a couple more to get me going.

Decided to work on the novel again. Thought I had a unique name, until I Googled it, and found it was as common as my first name. LOL I am so humbled bu this. I did spell it different, and found that there is even a place with the same name, so I am like, I am not as clever as I though. I know I can change that.

Began looking up other names as well. I may keep the name, because this is the second one I looked up and found it was very common. I think I can work it out.

My Trilogy

Started thinking of a follow up to my comic book. I really want to work on this. I have to write out an expanded character /cast list, and to work on the direction further. Some notes wouldn't be bad.

I saw a clear flaw in the story. One of the lead characters has become perfect. He is safe from harm in any way, and that has annoyed me to no end. While I admire the struggles he went through in the first volume, I cannot have him being omnipotent in my trilogy. It makes him uninteresting as a character. I love that he was likeable, heroic, and clever. The changes he goes through have made him tougher, but in order to keep him likeable, I'm gonna have to work on who he is.

Some of the other characters have had major changes as well, and a few of them are not ready for the pain and changes. Oh, I am so excited to work this out. No, the characters are not published, but I want to finish the trilogy still. If I do, get it published, it will be the icing on the cake at this point. I truly love resolving the character issues and the process of writing/revising.

Writing Update

Did like a little amount of writing. my desire for ice cream was in the way. Darn it. Thought about it all day at work, when my logical side said that one bucket of rocky road is roughly the same amount for a little cup of ice cream at the parlor. What waste any more money? Tomorrow I will get me some ice cream.

I forgot to by some nacho chips, and my made my chili already. What the heck am I supposed to eat them with? I am so mad at myself.

Got my oil changed today and I was relieved about that. I needed to get my biz handled, and I wasn't on top of that. Now I am, so there. life is good, until another bill appears. :-(

Cleaning For the Summer

A funny thing happened to me, when I got home. I felt a need to not be online and felt the desire to connect with other areas of my life. I want to watch a movie, cook my dinner, read a novel or two. I need to write more. I have neglected my writing. I need to make it a top priority, as I don’t have to be online to write.

Cleaned a section of my living room late last night. When I walked in the door, all I saw was clutter, and I was upset about that. Made myself pick a section, and it was going to be organized before I went to bed tonight.

Handwrote out some paragraphs for my short story. I realized I made one terrible flaw, I kept trying to “fix what I had currently written, as opposed to keep writing. I may not like the ending, but with no new material, I am simply over editing. Luckily I wrote out some new material, but I have a feeling that I am making this a multipart story. Perhaps it is the beginning of some chapters. I won’t know until I add some new paragraphs.

Picked up some unofficial writing assignments. Long story. Needless to say, they have to get in line, because my mind can only hold so much.

Ummm...

Why don't I like Beyonce's "Get Me Bodied" song? I like some of the other ones, just not that one. Alas, it was not meant to be. I don't like Kelly Roland's song either. Am I having a Destiny's Child burnout?

Ordered an outfit online. I decided one pair of pants, and one shirt would suffice. I wanted to see how they fit, proper. After one of my work pants decided to yell at me. It screamed, "get your fat ass outta me!" Yes it did. I felt like the Incredible Hulk, about to rip outta the pants. Darn it.

Well the pants and shirt are fine. I think I may go up a shirt size. The pants are black, and the shirt is a banana color stripe. So I look like a pale yellow bumblebee with rich black. Now I have to plot my next purchase. BTW this was not done on credit cards. I waited until I had the money for it. I do want a red shirt. The pants can be any color. Something dark blue. These are for work anyways.

A Brother Be...Hungry

So I’m watching sci-fi channel, and noting the many awful, awful original movies I’ve watched. When I say awful, sometimes I think the writer could have pulled a better story out of a dung heap. They are bad. LOL

Well, I know I could out bad, the bad writers, so I decided to create my own concept. I texted it to my brothers, who thought it was funny. Then I thought, why don’t I expand on this crazy concept. Well, now I have a real crazy concept to work on. All I can say, sometimes a bad idea is a good one, because now I have a crazy story to work on.

I am constantly writing, drawing, sketching, blogging, forums, & text messaging. When am I not creating something?

Tomorrow I said I am gonna cook. Chili to be exact. Gonna try some smoked jalapeno tomorrow. Hope the ground beef thaws out. A brother be hungry.

Go Me, Baby

I'm forming ideas for my drawings. I have some ideas for figures, in places, and need to do some more research. I need for things to gel. Its extensive in its reach for ideas. I need to buy more paper and Conte Crayon too. Conte makes the world better. Yes it does. Michael's is so expensive. maybe I can order online form the Dick Blick catalogue. I can buy the art supplies in bulk.

Wrote out a page of my script. I need to write another tonight. Y'all know I love two pages as a minimum. I want to work on the prose story. I have this idea, well, I know it will be cool, but its gotta get typed, or its doomed to stay in my head. I'm feeling mellow tonight, and hope this feeling keeps for the night.

Tickle Me Emo/Elmo - MAD TV

Becuase it made me laugh.

Changes

Whooo, going in multiple directions with the art and stories. I feel I am on a roller coaster, as I am truly excited about drawing again. I need to get more writing done. H got me a sun images/photo worth looking at. I checked out some figure guides I thing will help me with the images.

I'm going through some emotions. Debated whether to post my ice cream experience, as it's been rather distressing. More importantly, I'm trying to not hold onto the negative emotions. It's best to cast away bad vibes. On the other hand, I need to confront the things that piss me off, and squash them. I'll let it mellow overnight, and if I feel different in the morning I will post the experience.

I Should Be Writing

I should be writing, but I don't feel like it. Don't want to do anything. Rewarded my laziness with a chocolate chip cookie. Yes I know, cart before the horse, but I couldn't say no. "Cookies is the new crack," y'all. Did do a lot of research for my drawings and for my short story. See, I'm not all lazy. I'm hoping some music will get me into writing something. Now I'm simply singing along with the music.

I got to do something tonight, because I got my eye on ice cream. That's worth two typewritten pages. No?

Grindhouse Trailer- FULL LENGTH

The movie’s gone, but I loved it. It was good, sleazy and quite breathtaking. For the squeamish, it would have bothered you. For me it was a good time, and the audience reactions was a one of a kind experience.

Sketching: The First Steps

So I have decided to draw again. I picked a theme and work at on in the images. I want to do at least twenty drawings in pastel, because, that's what I need to do. Mind you, sometimes one drawing can take days, so I am in for a long trip. This is fine by me, as I love a challenge. I do want to thank Aggie, Shisho, and Michale Tyzack for inspiring me to get my art on. Its one of those chain of events things.

See, Michael passed away, and he was the head of the studio art dept when I was an undergrad. This made me look at my art more. Shisho asked about my art. Aggie saw my artwork and asked me why don't I do more art, or at least get into a gallery.

For those not in the know, my artistic spirit was crushed when I applied to 5-6 grad schools and I was rejected by all of them, even SCAD, where I am now a graduate student (contemporary writing-MFA).

Well, I made some sketches, and I have a theme, and I am going to work it. Much like writing too, I need some references. Some details for images need to be worked out. I may post some of the sketches after I do a more solid composition. Right now they are so abstract and so rough, its best to let them stay away from sight.

Sunday, May 20, 2007

Well, Well, Well

I don't feel like doing much at all creative. Its like I hit a slump. It's like when you're full and you want to leave the table, and to eat more is to invite gluttony in. Ugh. I will have to do the dreaded just do one full paragraph route, because I need to get stuff done. Maybe I need to drink more water and clear out all the bad gunk. Wash that sugar right on out. I will start now. :-)

I could use some music too. Maybe later, when I am undisturbed, I can get down to business with the writing.

Silly Me

A while ago, I wrote out some pages for scripts, and thoughtof late that I will likely never use them. What I realized is, that they fit into the current stories I've been working on, so why not combine them proper? Of course changes will have to be made, but I think I am onto something, so here we go again.

This doesn't help out my prose story, which i need to show some love to. So many things to do.

Saturdaze

Still writing, still breathing, still working on things to come. Decided I would be completely lazy today, which is a mixed blessing type of deal. Want to catch the season finales of certain shows, which I will do shortly.

I made my pot of chicken Alfredo. OMG it is so good. I was so concerned about getting it right. I made the chicken for it like two days ago, so I was good with that. Made the sauteed veggies and the sauce. I can't do the jarred sauce without jazzing it up. I added butter, red pepper flakes, salt, half & half, Parmesan cheese, and a little nutmeg. 'Xcuse me, I just got a mild migraine. I need to take something for it.

*Gets Aleve & glass of water*

That was NASTY. Side of head was throbbing like mad, and what will happen next is nausea, if I let it. I forgot what I wanted to post. I LOATHE when that happens. I'm gonna chill with a movie in bed.

Writing Update

Handworte out paragraphs for the prose story. In the midst of thinking of scenes, I got some research to make some more authentic ideas. I have even more ideas, as one sentence of dialogue I thought of on the way home changes the story in a postive, yet provocative way. My desire to be free of my own censor has yeilded some interesting results.

In the midst of writing, I had a scene for my mini series. Someone suggested adding a new chapter/issue, which was not a bad idea. I got to thinking though, what if the character was relating this story to someone. This of course spawned pages, and had me thinking, I should make a sequel, six more issues. Yes I'm in overdrive.

Tomorrow, I am hoping to post the first of the five "writing heroes." I wrote several out last night, and I hope to get a litte research in there. On a interesting note, many of the people I selected from were women writers. I did not recognise this until now. Fascinating.

My comedy project, needs a boost. I have some ideas, but I need to introduce a good scene, and my mind is stalling, but I need to end the stalemate. If push comes to shove I will make myself write two pages in there. Why? I need to keep writing it, or it will fall to the wayside. All this, and I need to cook & clean tomorrow. What? A brother gotta eat , and he can cook his meals.

Five Writing Heroes

My challenge for myself this month, and beyond is to find a minimum of five people/creatorts whose writing I admire. Afterwards I have to write at least a minimum of five paragraphs as to why I like them, or their work. Why? Well, why the heck not. I keep saying I like writing, but what do I read? This is me exploring my own ideas. I challenge any readers to a variation of my exercise. Any medium will do. I will have to research them some.

Plucked From the Vine

We all have one. It’s that voice in our heads that tells us not to do certain things. In my writing, I have found myself having a very LOUD censor. He’s a nitpicky bastard. Think CP30 a little louder, and more prone to give his opinion whenever he sees fit. Yeah, ugly, right.

Needless to say I am having some rough times with my writing, as I have been trying to get my act together, and write things worth writing, and not simply repeating ideas I have read before. This is where the censor comes in. He hates my ideas. He thinks I should stay within the confines, however, I know I don’t have to. I am trying new ideas, for better or worse. Some of them make me so nervous, and are certainly a risk. I feel it’s a worthy risk, as I know that some of the ideas are raw, and I am willing to pluck them from the vine.

So let me say that I wish to remove the censor in my head from his unflinching guarding of my comfort zone. He gets to retire gracefully. His annoying self did his job. He is a part of me. Needless to say, it was I who stopped myself from exploring my own horizons. For no better reasoning, I feared the unknown, and what I am capable of.

Pulling Cards & Yanking Chains

Have you ever had to bust somebody out for trying to be a jackass to you? How about in public? I mean among the screaming, bratty kids in the mall, or the grocery store, you had to pull that card? Yes, pulling the card, because some people think your life is a joke. You know you're smarter than what someone is thinking of you. You know people are tripping, but you need them to get with the program, right?

Not that I enjoy blasting people, but if you didn't call them out, they would keep working your nerves. How much disrespect are you to take off of anybody? That happened to a family member, where she was trying to be helpful, and the person wanted to be cute and said some hateful things in front of other people. Now the cute one got called on, but I told my relative, you should have pulled that card so bad that it would have been the complete end of that line of thinking. I'm talking about dressing down someone who has the gall to treat you poorly, when you're doing good for them.

My own horror story is with a family member who is literally trying to take the food out of my mouth to support his own indulgences. He and I are having that talk this week-end. All I'm saying is if you want to act a donkey, I can treat you like a donkey, and I don't kiss asses.

I've noticed that when I am kind to some (not all) people, they think that kindness equates weakness. They never see the tiger in me making that bold move. They never realize that I had feelings, as their words were blunt. A few metaphorical maulings, and some people knew not to take their issues out on me. There are times when it is necessary to show all aggression.

The Poet In Me

Working on a new poem. Decided to hold onto it, and working out the words a lot more. Playing with the ideas, trying to make it better. May post it later tonight, or tomorrow. Whenever I stop making additions/corrections to it. The poet in me is alive, and kicking. Glad he put in an appearance.

If you want to see some of my older poems on my blog, click here.

The Quick and Dirty

I gotta get offline and get myself together before work. Made some chicken steaks (chicken breast fried like steaks). They taste so well, but they are for my chicken Alfredo, if I ever get around to cooking it (not today). Otherwise it will be wild rice and baked beans. I ain't picky, but I love some good jazzed up Alfredo sauce. Trust me, it is so good.

Hope to write some more. At least two more pages of the prose story. Keep myself going. Making myself write, even if its not good. Heck, this is first draft, and its allowed to have some lame arsed parts, so long as I get it completed. Then it can cool off, and I can tackle it on draft two. Gotta work that writing. Have that story screaming. Say my name short story. SAY MY NAME, BITCH!

New Self-Portrait

I wanted a new picture for the blog. It's been a drwn out moment since I last posted a self-portait. Like so many self-pixes, I used Phtoshop filters, as well as some adjustments to the colors.

Getting My Act Together

My graduate school class is a month away. I'm taking one class this summer, Contemporary Art. I so loathe art history, so I am making this a challenge. I charge the instructor with making this class worth taking and staying awake in two days outta the week. NOTE: I placed the responsibility on the instructor, and not myself. The hallmark of a false start.

For those who don't know, in my undergrad days, art history was a sleep fest. OMG, the instructor turned out the lights, showed them damn slides, and spoke soft, monotone, or both. I hated art history because I felt that I was being made to study some of the most boring shit the instructor could find. Mind you, some of it was fun, interesting, and scandalous, but only a little bit of it.

This will be a good challenge for me. I will turn this class out, bust it with a "A," and have people asking me about "how you did that?" Why? Because I love a good challenge, and nobody, and I mean nobody or thing is stopping me from getting my MFA in Contemporary Writing. Recognize that I am getting my graduate act together.

Shout Out To Kat

A shout out goes to my girl Kat. Her father passed, and I am so sorry.

Get a Damn Job!

OK, no names here, but a certain slacker has been busting on people trying to get them to pay his way. If we weren't family I would drop kick his butt into next year.

I'm tired of saying "get a job," or "go to college" to the slacker. I have gone to great lengths to help him. I was ready to place a few calls for some jobs I knew were open, and he could get them, if he applied himself. Let me tell you, he turned my help down. OMG, I'm telling him its a start, and the people are good. He doesn't want it.

Remember when teachers would say you "didn't apply yourself" on your report cards? Only my report cards? Darn it, you know what I mean. ;-)

Part of having family is being there for each other, but now I am at that point where I'm underwhelmed by his desire to not do a damn thing for his welfare. The slacker is so ungrateful, like we (the family) owes him. Last I checked I wasn't his father. Last time I checked, he was older than me, healthy, and always on the go. How the fuck can one be on the go all the time with no damn money?

Irons In the Fire

Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, I am keeping on with the writing. The muse is striking like lightning, so I am like all for writing, while the irons are H-O-T. Alongside this lovely script that I am working all the kinks out, I developed a short story that is six pages and going strong. I so want to see where the short story is going. I have no idea. All I know is that its exciting to read and not let go of so easily. I am itching to know what happens next. LOL

Fortunately, for the night, I stopped at a point where there is this new vision of a scene that I will be glad to do the two page minimum requirement tomorrow. Its these things in life that I love working on, and derive serious satisfaction. Many other things, that are supposed to make me feel good can fall by the wayside. It doesn't hold a candle to feeling inspired to write..

P.S. When I sat down on my break, I realized that I did not bring enough tuna salad, in spite of having some lettuce, and some tomato slices. I should have brought the Ritz crackers. :-(

At the end of my shift I was hungry. Fixed that when I got home. ;-)

Writing Fool & Loving It II

Worked on my comic. Went further in chapter one than expected. I only wanted six pages, did eight. Came to a bit of a roadblock. I need to add a new scene with some newer characters to broaden the scen some. Hadn't figured out what to do, but I will work that out, as there is more to do, and I have a lot of dialogue that I need to make sure fits in chapter two.

Had this idea for a novel. Decided to write out the scene, and came up with a page. I need a second page, as I like to have a minimum of two pages of written material. Simple, yet efficent rule for me and writing. For those who don't know, I will write at least three pages, but I make myself do the two minimum rule so I don't abandon the idea so hastily.

Made tuna salad for dinner. This took longer than I thought, but it tastes good. Gotta go back to writing the novel idea, and will hit chapter one up again later tonight.

Writing Fool & Loving It

The new project is going well. Worked on more pages than I imagined. I want to finish chapter one by tomorrow evening. I have to run a couple of errands, tomorrow, and I am excited about working on this. I should have made a grocery list, as I wanted to purchase a few things.

Having dinner with some friends, so I hope to spend some time away from this project, and it not be a bad thing.

The ambient radio station I like is acting up. I am so upset because the music soothes me. I'm trying the "Dirty House Music" station now. Good music, but I want my soothing sexy music back.

Let's Go For It!

My latest story/project I'm working on. Think of it as a madcap super hero affair full of foolishness, violence, and scandal. My goal it to make a humor based title that allows me to indulge is the absurd, and fun. My goal is to make it fun and funny, so readers a good laugh, with a mild dose of violence. Don't think of it as light hearted, because some of the issues aren't. It will have some dark humor, and some funny moments though.

I injected so much serious stuff in the first five pages, that I'm nervous the energy of the book will change. I don't have a complete first draft yet, so I'm worrying over nothing.

This will be a six-issue mini seires, twenty-two pages for each issue. I don't even know if anybody would be interested in reading it. I, however, would love to complete the work, as I love to see a finished product. Again, I'm trying to stay true to one project, give it the best commitment, so that it gets completed. the other projects will have to settle for me writing notes, or a paragraph here and there. No telling where this will lead, as classes will start next month. i worry too much, before the storm arrives.

One Step At a Time

It’s been a few days since I wrote something. Believe me, that’s not because I’ve got nothing to say. I have been putting my writing into a new script. Traditionally, during the weekdays, I give it at least twenty mins of time. I want to devote more time to it, as I have a certain amount of dialogue that needs to be placed in the script. I am thinking this is a six-issue story as well, but I don’t know where it’s going yet. I’m in that uncertain stage. It’s hard to explain, but more needs to be written. For the most part, the protagonist is the antagonist as well. All I can say is I am so confused.

I did make a pact to not jump all over the place and make the current story the priority story to work on. I do need another story, as I intend to do a shorter one for a different publisher. I have yet to decide on what to do next, but I have two scripts that I can reclaim and expand upon. I’ll be fine if I expand some of the ideas, but it is backburner.

Catching up on CSI, so I have to take my work in front of the TV. I am blessed because I have done a lot of work already. This is why I don’t write and watch TV most of the time.

Yesterday

Yesterday was one of those days where it was a little lazy, and the sky looked as if it would pour down on me. All I could think of is how my car needs to be washed. Guilty as charged, because my car needed a bath. I shame myself.

Watched Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Usually I select a DVD to watch as I go to bed. Since I have seen both like multiple times, there’s no chance of me having a sudden urge to see what’s going on. Watching them awake has been fun. I am excited about seeing more movies I’ve seen dozers of times.

The battery died in my car remote, and I decided to replace it on Saturday. Of course, I didn’t know what to replace it with and I was so silly because I never had to open the damn thing. I eventually did, bought the battery, and moved on. Life is good.

Began to participate in a forum debate on Wonder Woman. I admit to looking forward to it, but I am hesitant, as I think the open dialogue broke down to where I am finding the debate to not be pleasurable. What to do? Move on, though it was an inspired thread. I am glad for that. Perhaps a renewed try tomorrow?

I still have cheesecake in my fridge. I ate a slice. It was delicious.

Out The Corner of My Eyes

Y'all, I was chilling on my bed, watching movies (flipping through the channels really), when out the corner of my eye I noticed a spot on my blinds. Ignored it for a split second, until my mind told me that I don't have a dark spot on my cream colored blinds. This spot gained my full attention, as the dull glow of TV light was not enough for me to see it clearly. I kept hoping it was a speck in my contacts BTW.

extreme, I don't Turned on the light and saw that it was a big moth or something like that. It took only a few seconds for me to move from my bed, grab a shoe, and smashed the hell out of it. Yes, it seemedeven know when it got into the house, but I knew it was dead from the moment I recognized it.

If your Girlfriend or Boyfriend looks like a Tauntaun…

…Odds are they are a Tauntaun. What the hell were you thinking? For those not in the know, this is a Tauntaun (NOTE: its not the men in the picture). Much like the Wu Tang Clan, a Tauntaun ain’t nothing to f**k with.

What kind of drugs, or space debris were you smoking? You can’t even put a bag over that head. Is there one big enough? C’mon that’s why your friends never met her/him. What does that tell you?

You know you’re not taking that home to meet your parents. They’d disown your dumb-ass, burn your childhood pictures, and skip town. They wouldn’t do an intervention on you, and they don’t think you can bounce back from the horror that is your mate.

They need an intervention on themselves. They’ve failed you. You can’t even pick an ugly man or woman on your own. You picked a damn Tauntaun. You need a bag over your head too.

If you go on a blind date, and the date happens to look like a Tauntaun, put the nearest bag over your head. Demand to go back home. Take a long shower, and burn the clothes you wore out that evening. A real friend wouldn’t have set you up like that. Watch the pranksters in your clique. They will mess you up to get a good laugh. Put a scarlet "T" on all their clothes. Let the world know they messed with Tauntauns.

*Paid for by the don’t mess with a Tauntaun committee. This is a blog joke. Please don't take it serious you Tauantaun lover you.

Contempt...

Ever had it for someone or something? Watch it turn into gold in my hands, as I think of some dastardly things to create. I love creative writing.

I brainstorm people...

Big, Big Burger

I brought a whimpy frozen dinner with me to eat. After three hours of work, I was already hungry. That whimpy dinner wonldn't do it for me.

I went to the local burger joint and got myself a burger, fries and a sweet tea. Yeah, I had a big, big, burger. I'm not hungry anymore.

Wishy Washy

Today is a wishy washy day as I realized I change my mind so often. I don’t even care that I do. What am I committed to? What matters the most to me?

I go through lotsa emotions, mood swings, and my own creative bouts of inspiration and hunger for new stories. Got one now, that is forming, and demanding time. She needs to be written soon, and her story set free. I love this idea, and would love to see it print. It’s gonna be a challenge though, as I sense pain and torment in this one.

Watched Magic Users Club (anime). I remember this one, and it was funny back then. It’s still funny. I find that the mix of foolishness and magic goes well together. So I find myself in love with an old show.

Confused, Confused, Confused

A question for ladies: Why do some (and I stress some) of y'all wear outfits to expose cleavage, but when you come to the counter, y'all start covering that area up like there was a draft y'all just noticed?

See some ladies rock those outfits they chose. They're like, "yeah I got it, I flaunt it. Look but don't touch." Fine with me.

Others are like

"I'm sexy, look at meeeeee." *skips around in the winter with skimpy outfits.

"No I'm young and innocent (-esque)" *covers top with hands.

"I got them. Please check out what I got." *moves hands and sits near guys.

"Please don't see what I got." *covers self again as she asks for help at the counter.

"Peek-a-boo hoo." * She leaves a mess, like she's emotionally scarred.

Erotica

Ok, now that I have your attention. LOL

“Erotica” is what I said will be the title of my thesis that won’t be explored until sometime in the far off future. My goal is to ask/write about if there was any literary and artistic merit to erotic fiction, and explore this in detail for my future thesis.

This is me moving away (against?) from my conservative background. This is me looking at all forms of mediums, and seeing what I can work with. A friend told me that people would only look at the pictures. LOL I should make it all text, but the reader in myself likes pictures too much. I do believe I need to break away and do something, wild, challenging, and on the risqué side.

That, and I should leave the college with something “fun” to read. By fun I mean I put time, effort, research, and well-crafted words to work for me as I explore my ideas. Maybe the title won’t be “Erotica,” but it makes me smile to think of it as such.

As an unwritten future, I think this would be a challenge. I am also sure I will have more pros and cons as I work this idea out further, and of course, I may find a more challenging thesis to tackle, or the thesis committee won’t like my ideas. Still “Erotica” is blog-worthy post.

On A Natural High

This week has been bittersweet, but I am very happy to say I am taking classes again. Let me back up a little for you.

Initially, I stopped taking classes. I’m not blaming anyone, but my workload and new duties were getting the best of my class assignments time and me. Needless to say I could slow down the class work, but not the job. I decided a lengthy break form class was in order. Furthermore, I was able to devote more time to my writing projects, which dominated my free time.

Needless to say, the time for my education to be at the forefront of my goals is here. It’s just one class next quarter, but that’s one step closer to my MFA. I will so bust it out. I will have a terminal degree in Contemporary Writing.

And my elementry school teachers called me "stupid." Assholes.

I’m feeling like a champ now. I hope and pray this feeling extends itself to my entire life.

More With Fiction Writing

My master cast list needed polishing for my proposed mini series. Its that I want to present it with clarity and exactly what I need to say. I am more than pleased I did this, as it allowed me to touch base with the story again. It allowed me to see what I am writing. I really want to get this story published. I pray for a response, positive or negative. I will move onto the next publisher, if I have to. I never felt like this before on a project.

Bittersweet III: Real Inspiration

NOTE: Dear readers. This may seem a little out of sequence, or an odd request, but could you start reading from part one (below). I want you to have the full impact of what I wrote. I would appreciate any comments you have as well.

---S.

Michael was the type of professor who withheld all comments. I always thought he disapproved of my artwork. That was so far from the truth. Back in my undergrad days, I stood out like a sore thumb. I was tall, and the only African-American male student in the Studio Art department. There were a few AA ladies, but they were scattered about. I, however, digress. Michael could remember me easily. I loved working on my art. He was kind enough to check on my progress, along with so many of the faculty.

He enriched me as a student by giving me the space to grow, and encouraging me to be a better artist. I am so grateful for his support. I can tell you with all honesty that it hurts that I didn’t know he passed until tonight. It hurts that my friends weren’t my friends.
I choose, in loving memory of my Professor, to make more art, and I feel the need to rise above all transgressions. Ain’t nobody taking that from me.

Bittersweet II: Goodbye Michael Tyzack

NOTE: Dear readers. This may seem a little out of sequence, or an odd request, but could you start reading from part one (below). I want you to have the full impact of what I wrote. I would appreciate any comments you have as well.

---S.

Today I have mixed blessings. After months of trying to get back into classes, I now have the opportunity to get back into them. I am so grateful. I had a little bit of struggle, but I decide to not focus on the negative, but on the positive. No need for it.

Found out today, that Michael Tyzack, the department head of the Studio Art department passed away in February. I never knew this. OMG. I am so upset. Let me confess, I loathe funerals and wakes, but I would have gone to his. Tyzack is one of the instructors who encouraged me to keep working at my craft, and to go to graduate school.

What pulled the rug from under me was that people, who I used to work with, on campus, knew this, and have both my email and cell number, and didn’t bother to say a thing to me. These are people who know I graduated from the Studio Art department. I started full time there in my last semester as an undergrad. Oh God, I have to let them go. I have to let this go. I’m going nowhere with the resentment.

Bittersweet Part I: Let ‘Em Go

This week has been a mix of things. On YABS forum, we were talking about passive-aggressive people calling themselves my friend. My response, and my conclusion is that I will be forgetting people who don’t respect me. They aren’t worth getting mad over anymore. Not worth feeling upset about.

Tonight I found something that impacted me so strongly. I thought I knew some people, I worked with for years. Came to know them, care about them. Felt like we had a family unit at work. When I left Charleston, I gave them my cell phone number. They never called. I called them, and I still did not get the message that I was not someone they wanted to be friends with anymore. Every call was one sided. Foolish me.

I know if I visit the old job, some of these peeps would smile and say how am I, but that’s it. I’ll never get a call again. I say to this, let them go. If they don’t want to call, or be friends, then what need I do? Let ‘em go.

I've Been Thinking

There I go again thinking of things, like how to deal with my life, when something strikes me in the middle of my humor. Half the things I worry about are absolutely nothing. less than zero. Why did I ever devote time to worrying about this? Just the sam I am over that garbage. I am looking forward to trying on new hats.

Oh, I found my Photoshop book too.

A.P.B. My Photshop CS Book.

Y'all know 'cause I want it, I can't find this damn thing. I want to re-teach myself some stuff. I'm having creative ideas. If this book keeps hiding, I swear that II would be surpised if I stuffed it in the closet, and never looked back. If I don't find it, I will read my Illlustrator maunal first. Then Fireworks.

No, its not under my bed, and not in my pile of discarded things. Dammit, Adobe products, why must I be tormented with silliness. May purchase a subscription to Lynda.com, and work that out.

Somewhere I need to find my Flash and Dreamweaver manuals, and bust them down. Have people making double takes. Yes, i am that good, and not afraid to expand my horizons. It's all about communication people. This is how I feel, and I don't want to fight the need to speak.

Having An Ok Day

I sleep too much. Really I do. I don't like sleeping so late, but that would mean going to bed at a respectable hour. When will that happen? I'm thinking of new ideas so I will be fine. lol.

My lactose intolerance has spiked this month, and I have felt the nasty pains of not having my lactade to help digest the dairy in my diet. It felt like someone was kicking me in my abs and chest. A war with dairy inside my body.

Still working on my story. Printed it like 10 mins before I got dressed for work, only to find I ran out of black ink. I have a spare cartridge, but had not time to replace it and finish the printing. Well, its not like I can edit all 19 pages like I want to in one day. I should so have numbered the pages. Hindsight is always perfect.

EDIT: It is always fantastic to have an ok day, than a miserable day. Let the day be blah, it could be crappy.

Why Did I Watch Boondocks Last Night?

Why did I watch Boondocks last night? All I can say is I laughed so hard, it hurt. Never has an overuse of the n word been used where I found it to be satired, as well as rap itself. OMG I will not spoil it for you. You will have to see the misadventure of Ganstalicious for yourself. Talk about hot mess, and me splitting my side laughing at all that mess. It was good. If the other episodes are as good as that was, I will watch more.

EDIT: Link to the Boondocks website.

My Go At Multitasking-Life Is So Unfair

So if I had longer hair I would rip it off as I played the multi tasker for the week-end. I spent 30 mins trying to fill out some forms, and other things, like balancing a budget, making some calls, and talking with some peeps I neglected to do earlier. Ugh, arrrgh.

Then of, course, I didn't eat until late, and my blood sugar dropped like a ton of bricks. This was worse than "fall down day," as I did not mention the pot of hot soapy water that fell on the floor. I thought it was balanced on the sink, there it went splashing all over the floor.

I nibbled on some chips, we all know the chips don't have the nutrition it takes to give that boost. If my mother were here she'd be fussing with me for not eating sooner. She'd be right, this time. As I laid on my bed, I heated some food, and I should have microwaved it. I was distracted by television. As I laid there feeling low, I was like somethings cooking, and then I realized my pot was on the stove. Fortunately I did not have it at high heat. Ate my leftover baked beans and sausage. It took forever for my blood sugar to get back to a decent level.

I feel silly. So silly that I can't talk about the slice of cheesecake I had later on that tasted so good, and I could have had it sooner had I not put too much effort into multi-tasking. Oh, I got most of it done.

Changes II

Was always afraid of what change brings, what it means to me. So scared I don't do what I need to do. It only proves I have much to learn about life. I'm still gonna do what I need to in order to improve the quality of my life. It seems difficult, but I believe that can improve my life. No looking back, no regretting what didn't happen. Let's look towards the future to better times and happiness.

Fall Down Day!

Thursday was “fall down day.” I kept falling, and quite frankly I was like why am so clumsy. I tripped over everything in my apartment: the carpet, thin air, my shoes, which I should have moved, etc.

Then people deleted me from their email accounts, and threw away my avatars, by accident. Don’t nobody delete me anymore. lol

I didn’t write much fiction, which likely means something at least three pages will be done tonight, along with my fafsa forms.

I was supposed to watch “Like Water For Chocolate,” because I borrowed this DVD and need to get it back to the owner. A friend recommended Netflix, and I should think about it.

Multi-tasking like crazy. I’m getting hungry. Thawed out the lasagna, so I may take a bite.

My Weird Dream; Stacy "Died"

Had the weirdest dream about being dead, then coming back to look on my family. It seems like my immediate family members knew I was hanging around, but everyone else didn’t. They didn’t see me at all. People were coming to prey on my family’s vulnerability, but I was there causing stuff to happen, and foil them. That’s love for you, that you stop your resting to help those you love.

I think this is a rebirth type of dream. I've changed. It is so clear. Odd, the story i recently wrote was about rebirth as well.

Movie Day

Granted, I am tired, and I have been watching silly movies today. Tried to sit through War of the Worlds, twice and failed. Not interested, which is odd for sci-fi and me. Nothing was clicking for me in the story. Watched Silver Hawk, a martial arts super hero flick starring Michelle Yeoh. It was silly, but fun. I watched most of it, but I'd seen it already

Spent so much time at YABS today. If was fun time so I don’t feel bad about it.

Wrote nothing today, which may change if I stay up. This blog entry should count for something, and my forum postings.

OMG my scalp is drier than paint chips. Gotta wash it down, and break out the conditioner. Can't be going around scartching my scalp. Looks on the gross side of life.

No plans for tomorrow other than to finally sit my tailbone down and do my fafsa form. Its long overdue, but since I have no plans, I better work that out.

Speaking of grad school, there are some kinks in the road, that need to be smoothed. I am hoping to get this managed before the fall quarter starts or I may be S.O.L. This worries me a whole lot. I will elaborate one days, as sometimes talking about it still upsets me.

Bought a cheesecake that has been so good, I do feel guilty for taking a slice. Its real creamy, and melts in your mouth. All I can say is it was a good buy.

Changes...

I'm getting a feeling that I'm heading for some changes. Call it instinct, but something's got me thinking I am going to give up some things, or make some positive changes in my life. Something of an epiphany. I know this as I see and sense that my responses have changed. I know that I am growing and learning still.

I am nervous. I am afraid of what will come. It's foolishness. I handle change adeptly, as I have always done. I do resist, but I get over that too.

Maybe I will look back at this time and smile because I know the negative impact is over, and I don't have to think about the negative anymore. The negative is a teaching tool. Instead of worrying about the things I cannot change, I will dwell on the things I can change.

Good events take time, and do not happen overnight. There will be many times where I will have to plant a seed, and see where this leads me. The resources I don't call upon, will available to me again, because I believe in myself.

Hanging at the Crossroads

This is where I am now, at the crossroads. I want to improve my life, and find a fulfilling direction that is stronger and meaningful. I also want to rise above where I am. Yes I am demanding more out of my life. I was feeling low about this in February, but I have come to the decision that rather than spend that time loathing where I am, but to build on my strengths. This requires me to take stock of my skills. This also requires me to shed myself of the belief that I can’t do wonderful things on my own.

I want to go on hours about change, but I have to go grab my tutorial books and run through my software skills because I can kick ass. I need to refresh my mind.

I Know I'm Tired When...

You know I was tired when after my hot bath, and put my boxers on backwards. Then I get mad at the boxers for being wrong, not my tired, fool self. Of course, I forgot to take out my contacts, because that would be too easy, and they need to get out of my eyes before I fall into a sleep.

Of course, I forgot to turn down the thermostat, since I upped it for the bath time. I only remember after I pull the covers over myself and get comfortable. I popped in a DVD to help me fall asleep. I’ve seen Revolutionary Girl Utena so many times I can recite the lines in my dreams.

No animation tonight. I want to watch something with people in them (I will settle for Beast Wars if I don’t find a movie though).

4/17/07

It’s been a busy few days and I am tired. I am still excited about writing. The story has taken some new turns, and I did some research to add some depth to the material. It’s pushing the material away from a straight up comedy, into a more dramatic story, which I find very appealing to work on.

I will say that the characters themselves are dictating and demanding of the story. This rough draft is begging to be structured. There are chunks of the story I am asking myself, how does the situation get to this point? What made him and her choose this path? There are additional scenes I need to have in order to make the story much more clearer.

Progress

Writing this story when I realized that I will need some reseach to improve the next draft. A couple of the characters have defined themselves in a very negative way. I've got to get a handhoild on it. Crazy ass characters. lol

Does The Happy Dance

Been working on my writing. Only scribbled down notes, ideas and scenes on paper. I am going to add them to the draft shortly. Came up with yet even more crazy ideas. I am loving this experience. To be honest, I was dreading starting a new story. Its something I needed to do for the creative soul in me, and get back into something to make me forget my first project. Went through that dry spell and some false starts with other stories that I will eventually reclaim and work out.

Eating a late dinner tonight. Made dinner for a change, instead of spending $10.00 per night on food. Made baked beans (bold and spicy blend) and rice. The southerner added sautéed onions & bell peppers, as well as bacon and sausage. It’s so good.

Gotta get back to my script. My guess is after I get 15-20 pages of the rough draft, I may be able to claim it as chapter one. I may go further. I honestly don’t know where chapter one ends, so I may double that length, then edit after all chapters are done.

Fooling Around

Decided to write out some dialogue for an idea, and found myself working and working on it until it was nine pages long. I love the idea that I started. I am going to keep writing on this. Eventually I will have to break the dialogue into panels, and this will be the first chapter of a four, or five-part script. I am excited that I have some new ideas, and am willing to push this further to make this project completed and off to a publisher.

It’s got a mild humor bent, and the strength is between the characters’ interactions. I could stay up all night trying to add more pages, as I can visualize the next scene right now. I got the music going and no interruptions until the morning. However I feel it best to hold back on some things. God willing, I will get more dialogue going.

UPDATE: Ten pages now!

My Day

Me too darn tired. me no wanna write a thing. But I get these five sentencces down, like I'm s'posed ta' and I'll be alright. Did me grocery shopping and I wanted a cheesecake but Wal-Mart was a little low on the goodies side. I had to pass on by. Picked up some salad and some fruits. I'm tring to get healthier foods. Th.ings to balance out the cheese cake. I don't want to be a lard butt ya know.

On the way home some ass in a pick up was tailgaiting, then darted into the next lane, and then the third, tailgiting that person. I know when people try to ride the bumper I take my foot off the accelerator. No need for me to feel pressure when I was doing the speed limit. You got ants in your pants-not my problem. I know if you tailgate me, you're going to be pissed. Get off my bumper. Also, I can't run over the peeps in front of me. Slow that thing down.

Ten Pages

I got the first ten pages of the script done. I have thirteen more for chapter 1. The harder decision, is this four chapters/issues or six? A brother be thinking about all kinds of stuff. We'll have to see, but the rule is to not edit until I got stuff done.

Untitled

Today is one of those crazy days. A pair of khakis don’t fit so well. They are so snug, or I’ve gotten wider around the waist ☺ lol I needed a new pair or three. Perhaps that will be on point for the week-end. I’d like to get that outta the way. lol can’t be showing up at the job all jacked up over some pants. Lord, my crotch and waist will thank me for not trying to compress them into ill-fitting pants.

The roads are so dangerous. Again people straddling the lanes, crossing lanes with no signals, and not paying attention to where they are going. I was really scared driving a few times.

About to reclaim a script and work out ten pages tonight. Forgot to make my grocery list, and I will do that before I go to be tonight because it needed to be done.

Gotta skit I need to rock out as well. If I don’t I will be pissed with myself for not putting some energy into it.

Driver’s Seat, Yeah That’s Me

This is me trying to get myself back into a frame of writing. I need to write at least one paragraph a day. Yeah its simple, but I need to do it as a warm-up. Get the creative mind flowing because I’d like to have some pieces of a story ready to write & type. Truth is I’m afraid. Afraid of what’s going to happen next. This is unlike me, as I know how to put pen to paper. So what the heck am I afraid of?

Meant to call my Mom, but I got sidetracked. Nothing new. I will call her tomorrow when I get the chance.

The day is ok. Feel a little rushed, but am sitting down on my break relaxing to a point.

Keep On Dicking Around

I hesitate to post this entry as the offending party comes off looking like a real jackass, so I censor this post to protect the guilty’s ID. If I didn’t care for said guilty party, I might act a bastard and post their name.

Last month, the offender was late with his cell phone bill, again, so I called and asked what’s the problem. Furthermore I suggested that if the offender could not make the bill at a certain time, to let me know, but it needs to be paid before the end of the month. The offender agreed, and then asked if I could get a phone for his girlfriend.

I’m like no way. She betta hook up with prepay. She needs to march her butt down to Verizon Wireless, get those prepaid minutes, and be happy. The offender can’t pay his bill on time now, why would I get him another phone for his girlfriend (Don’t answer that, please)? He says the girlfriend takes his phone all the time, and he needs his. I am embarrassed he asked me this. I was like, you must hate me on some level, or think so low to use me. Somebody’s gonna get their phone cut off if they keep dicking around.

Stop Farting, You're Stinking Up The Place

The week starts off with negative vibes. People are trippin like they need some high-powered meds. The kind of meds that make a person look and feel numb, to help them get them outta this universe. Their attitudes stink like farts. A loud fart that is so nasty you know the maker needs to change his shorts. It gets testy around these here parts. Fortunately I know how to open a window, and let that foul air on out. I’m moving right along.

Mellow

I need some rest, so I chill this day, hoping to feel mellow for the rest of the night. Was debating which DVD to pop in. I may put one in at random. So long as it keeps me entertained without bogging me down. Will jot down s'more writing soon.

Was thinking of some new foods. Stuffed cabbage sounds good. Hadn't done that in years. Stuffed cabbage, wild rice, and some mixed greens/ or string beans.

Been obsessing over cheesecake. J clued me onto Juniors' website. May order their sampler. My only gripe is that when I went to the site, I automatically gained ten pounds. lol Oh those cakes look so delicious.

My Breakthrough

If I don't give a damn about what others may think of my ideas, I will write more, and work harder at producing quality mateiral, no matter the medium. No regrets, no limitations, no distractions.

Like 1, 2, 3-Thinking Outside the Box

Moving right along, I decided I will have a burger for lunch from B & D's. This means I need to remember to order it on time. I tend to forget things so easily. The powers of the rapid fire mind. I'm laying off the frappichino today, as I think after twice in a row I may be taking in too much caffine. I am amped as it is. Time to let it go, for the weekend, at least. :-)

My mind is racing with new impulses and ideas. I wonder what is going on in that head of mine. I truly won't know until I jot it all down.

Totally OD'd on Beast Machines. I got to disk three of the series. I want to peep Justice League Unlimited. I keep hoping the costs for the DVD's drop as it stands at $39.00 each (seasons 1 & 2).

I'm nervous about new prosepcts, but this is a good thing. Its better for me to feel nervous and scared, than it is to feel that crappy complacent feel I get sometimes. I never want to work when I am too complacent. I say this because I know that its good to keep moving and breaking outside my comnfort zone.

Had these ideas for stories. Wow, the thoughts were so inapproriate, in that rude, and funny. I felt ashamed of them. Yes that sounds incredibly stupid, as I have not committed them to being published, but I have so many off the wall ideas. I edited myself, and didn't write them down. i can still hear them in the back of my head, and I don't think that was a good idea to try and suppress them.

I should unleash my ideas, because I don't think censoring myself is the way to go. Its different from pulling back from an extreme. An extreme is me taking something so far, that I'm not in touch with my ideas.

I almost censored mysef on my first script, but after thinking that this is what the character would do, I realized that it was a worthy risk of shock and/or horror as to what was done. I left that aspect in.

Here's to being outside the box.

Busy Little Bee

Ok, I need a new project. Not just something to keep me busy, but I need to delve into a fully realized new project. Of late I have been jotting down notes and stuff. I have a four person cast for a story that is comming into focus, however, I would like to get myself past the list, but it is maturing slowly and steady. I should not rock that boat.

A bit of sucky news, my artist, again has left a project. This is awful to me, as I thought the energy we had for the short story was awesome and the fisnished product would have been fabulous. I've been thinking about doing the artwork myself. Yes, I am a fine artist, and not a sequential artist. I don't know how quick I can draw this, but maybe, just maybe I should try it out for my own curiosity. Now I'm wondering how good a job I could do. This is going to be rough, but the foundation for drawing is there. I have to do some research, for my character, but I think I can createsome rough sketches this week.

Gotta get some photo references. :-) Busy, busy, busy.

Drama, Drama, Drama

There is drama everywhere. Not my drama, but drama nonetheless. It gets to you in that indirect way and locks hold of your mind. Today, all I want to do is purge my mind of the foolishness that is so not my own. Let me tell you, I have enough of my own dram to get through. I'm gonna start using that dram for my stories.

Speaking of stories, scribbled down some notes about some ideas. I so need to work on a full new project. Dive into it, and break it down.

The Steak Out

Back at it again with the ribeyes. Marinated them yesterday, and will be cooking them tomorrow, provided I get up on time to do the deed. I wish I had a grill. Cause I would cook those suckers on that grill.

Ok, I’m tired, and I foolishly didn’t eat a good brunch. Potato chips are not solid food. I know this, yet I played that game anyways. Willful ignorance. I pay for it every day I try it. Gonna learn one day.

Foolishly got caught up in the soaps again. Something about how trampy the character of Brooke Logan can get I find fascinating. I should turn away, but I don ‘t. It’s like watching a Judge Hatchet DNA test. Sorry people doing sorry things, hoping for something significant to happen from a DNA test. I always get the feeling they go back to the same behavior just the same.

Paradise Kiss Opening

This is a romance anime. I read some of the manga. Wouldn't mind seeing the first few episodes.

Nasty Ass Horses

I have lived in three cities, and the worst part of two of them is the carriage tours with the horses. Well, first of all the carriages are slow, and being a driver I don’t want to spook the horses. I feel bad their out in the hot sun of any historic district.

What I loathe most of all is the horseshit is everywhere. The streets are littered with feces, baking in the sun, and both Savannah, and Charleston have that muggy heat. The heat intensifies the smell. Let me tell you the to think you are safe from the smell of horse poop is a HUGE mistake. I nearly puked in my car on the way to work. I didn’t want the air on to vent the shit. I didn’t want the window down to bring in that hot, crap ridden funk.

What do I see smushed by tires on the road to work? Horse poop. What do I see when I step out of my car after paying an already nauseous amount of money in the meters? Horse poop. What did somebody step in on their walk across the street for all to smell and see? Damn horse poop.

One day I looked out the window and what did I see, a horse pooping at the stoplight. Thank God I don’t eat at my desk, and the door was closed. I didn’t even have to go out for dinner. I brought my own food. All I can say is heat turns poop to shit bomb. Go outside to get a soda or latte, day or night you smell the smell.

I am so disgusted. I need a bath to rinse the thoughts from my head.

Rich

Tried a slice of Millionaire’s Brownie cake. Let me tell you, this was one rich slice of cake. OMG, its so good, so sweet. Well worth the price I spent on it. LOL I won’t be buying another slice soon. Why? Well, the price and the fact that rich foods are instant weight gains. It was good. It was damn good. I am feeling good all inside and out.

Ummm, the Macy Gray CD, Big, followed me home. Can I keep it? Really, I DL’ed it from iTunes. I am listening to Big as I type this. I am enjoying the CD. I “Get Out, Okay” are my faves so far, but I need to hear it a few more times before I say anything else about the CD as a whole.

Read some comics. Fell in love with Stormwatch PHD. So much in love I ordered a subscription via mail. Writer Christos Gage said it was good months ago at YABS, but now the proof is in. I’m loving what I read.
