Take the Bull By The Horns

Ok, this is me contemplating my next move with a six-issue comic book I've written. My artist dropped out due to other obligations, and I have waited for over four months from one publisher to no avail. Such is life. What to do... Why I'm going to hire an artist, and possibly assemble a team to produce the package so that I can send out the comic to publishers interested in looking at the full material. Instead of feeling helpless or frustrated, I prefer this method, as I know I can get things done. It has changed my mindset, and made me feel more optimistic about my chances of getting published.

Love Your Thursdays

Ladies and Gentleman,

Take your Thursdays by the hand, and lead this passionate dance. Pull it closer to you. Feel your Thursday right on your chest. Look Thursdays in the eyes. Let it know that you love this tme and day. Don't you dare look away, as we all know for the dance to have passion, your eyes can't lie. If you don't know how, then you best fake it. Kiss your Thursdays, caress it. Let it know you care.

Share My Disdain

Reading a book called The Reenchantment of Art. Let me say that at some point I am finding the subject to be on the pretentious side. I have read so far, and I am condensing what I have read, that society has lost its sens of wonder. The spiritual side, the psyche, and the soul are empty. Art is created without the sens of wonder and curiosity that it has. The world is mundane. Art reflects the mundane. There needs to be a return to the intangible sides of creativity. What have I gotten myself into? I need to finish the book, but so far I am less than thrilled with my progress.

Writing Things Out

Well, I gave the short story some time, and began hand-editing the pages earlier today. It needs some work, and I admit that clarifying what the characters mean will more than likely make me scream, but I love a good challenge. So I do this without looking at the fact that I will cut out lines, and add new ones.

I am so tired. I loathe getting up early, as I have transformed myself into a creature of night. Now I know when the alarm clock goes off I have to get ready for class. Speaking of class Contemporary Art has proven parts interesting, parts shocking, parts boring as hell, and several parts disgusting. Let me tell you several artist turn me off so bad. One day I will have to post what I have learned, so all readers can be repulsed as well.

My Art V

This picture was taken a while ago, and saved on my HD for whatever reason. Didn't want to post it. Observant viewers will notice that this picture is next to another painting I did. This is oil on gessoed watercolor paper BTW. I miss using the larger formats, so I may buy some just the same.

I miss my spur of the moment painting. I had an energy that was simply good for me.

My Art IV

Don't like the pix quality here either. This was an attempt to use watercolors, and I kept trying to apply it like oil paint. I was so wrong. Still it has a charming quality that I like. If I had to do this again, I would at lease focus a little more on the neck and shoulders.

In my own defense, my glasses were off, and as hard as I stared in the mirror I could not get the finer details for the underlying drawing. Literally, I transformed my own visage.

My Art III

Did this a while ago. Oil on gessoed watercolor paper. Again the pix quality sucks rotten lemons. I will have to retake the image when the sun is bright, which it has not been for a few days.

If the angle was wider, you might have been able to see the neighboring pictures next to it.

Stacy's Blah Day-I Got A Cure

I don't know, I've been feeling kinda blah for the past couple of days. Something has penetrated my mind, and caused me to feel so blue. This I refuse to accept. By writing I am able to express and release all that ails me. While I can't fix the world in thirty seconds I can and will remind myself that the only one who truly holds me back is me. So to my blah day, I have to give fair warning. Keep messing with me, and I'm gonna kick you in the nuts. Why? Because its unwise to test me. Now when life is so complicated as is.

My Art II

The camera doesn't do much for them, and they were filtered. It needs to be reshot, but I was pressed for time when I snapped them.

Me, Before Class In the Morning

It was the morning, and for the night person that I am, I am surprisingly awake. It was one of those days where I can't remember if I ate something before I went to class or not. It didn't matter in the long run. Burger King will make a small profit from my adventures in daylight.

I like this photo. It would make a good avatar, no? I left it alone after I added the filters, and played with the colors. Between writing two short stories, work, class, and all my other ideas, I "forgot" about this image. I like what I see, now that the finicky aspect of my personality has left the room. LOL

I may post the original to show the contrast between the changes.

My Art

The pastel drawing rocks, but the picture of it I did is so flawed on so many levels. I wish I hadn't lost the connector yo my digital camera, that way I could simply take them with a better digital camera, instead of my simple camera phone. It's a challenge to use and I adjusted the levels, colors, and contrast in Photoshop so it would not look as dull as the image first did when I saw it. I may end up ordering another connector cable for my USB.

Untitled

One day off and the next back to the biz. Life is ok, if not a little hectic. Put myself on the two chapter a day program for my class. I will be done with the text and notes by Wednesday night. When I get home I so want to eat something good. I have baked potatoes at home, and sauteed veggies. Maybe I should stop by the grocery store. Not that I want to cook. A restaurant then. What am I in the mood for?

Oh, Britney *hangs head down in shame for her* Damn Girl

Normally I would not rag on a celebs (much), because I am too sarcastic for my own good. When I read this article on Yahoo about Brittney Spears and her slip shot excuse for her mad umbrella attack as her prepping for a movie role while in the midst of a breakdown, I have to resist my urge to say something. All I'm going to say is if she had said nothing about this I would not have laughed so hard, and fell out my chair. This is so comedy gold for all the wrong reasons.

I hope to never post another BS story again. or at least a happy one.

Tell Me How To Feel

With all these "top ten" and "most influential" lists, I feel that everything out of high school is the real popularity contest. Since I am not on any of those lists, I must be doing something wrong, right? I need people to tell me how to think, how to act. How to feel. What to wear, what to buy, what to believe in. Let's face it. We're all losers because there's a standard that says we're not validated because we haven't arrived.

Is it all good? I feel its all toxic, and it threatens how people perceive themselves. I remember back in high school where you got laughed at for not having name brand clothes. Imagine thinking your behind all that, when TV and magazines create these "trendy people" lists. Like I need to be told my style and life isn't cool.

So, if people don't like what they see, or I'm not cool, it's even better. It's not about lists anyways. It's about me doing my own thing.

My Mistake

OK, I saw this meter maid late, around 12:35 AM, and I hate a meter maid something fierce. I said something rather unpleasant. Not to her, but I said it aloud nonetheless. I then broke into my own "Lord forgive me" train of thought, when I realized it was not forgiveness I needed, but to address my own lack of understanding and lack of respect.

I didn't know this woman, and while my disdain for meter maids is real, I had no business saying what I did. She did nothing to me, and I was so ugly. I feel embarrassed, which I didn't at first, but when I get down to it, had I been in her shoes, and someone said that aloud to me for whatever reason, I would have internalized the comments. So now I feel real stupid, and rightfully so for my rudeness.

I fell better now that I have gotten this out of my system. I also feel good that she didn't hear me. So now I think I can stop beating myself up about this.

Bittersweet: More Adventures In Short Story Writing

OK, I'm still in writing fool mode. This short story has me doing things like, trying to complete it. I have to say draft one is done, and it is very rough, but my story has it's beginning, middle, and end. I need to leave the story alone for a while, then look it over to make changes proper for draft two. Now I have this very bittersweet story, where I think I need time away from these characters because they gots the drama.

Adventures In Short Story Writing

S'ok I needed a mad latte break. Before I made my dash (the barista made this thing H-A-W-T) I also managed to squeeze some writing in for my short story. Right now I hit a deep point where the protagonist is discussing what her mother did to her. The descriptions are vivid, and I realized the character was in a world of hurt. This saddened me. I haven't even got to writing the part I see clearly, which is when she gets the Kool-Aid outta the fridge. The more I write about her, the more I want to know how she keeps her head up in spite of her pains, (parents and slack -ass bf).

The Early Shift

Did writing for a paper last night for class. Video art, at its roots is fascinating, but highly dated. Clearly the marks of the 80's have left its mark all over the works of Nam June Paik, who my paper is on. OMG someone mentioned "Max Hedroom" in class. Do you know how old that shit is? Do I realize how old I am? As the night moved on, I started talking about old things with my cyber pals. He-Man, Jem and the Holograms, Linoel Ritchie, and one really messed up Lifetime Network movie.

All the things discarded and thought gone from my mind. Now they come back not to haunt me, but to remind me of the incredible life I have. Life ain't easy all the time, but this reflection brought back some fun memories (not Max Headroom though). Not everything from the eighties should remain in my head. LOL

My Short Story

As mentioned in my last post, I'm writing a short story about a relationship that turns sour. It's interesting as I build layers onto the protagonist. Apparently her mother and boyfriend are the source of all her woes. It's only got two pages worth of material so far, and I think it will take some time to get it put together. I did notice its the simple things the character does, that I relate to. it's hot, and she's miserable because of it, and her activity is centered around Kool-Aid. I think what happens next will depend on the flavor of Kool-Aid, and its availability to her. Silly?

Reclaiming My Fiction

Whoo, I did some crazy things yesterday. Wrote some erotic fiction (for those who don't know, I swore I would make my graduate thesis about erotica-but its one of many ideas), and I have to say I will NEVER show what I wrote this week end to anyone. It was that awful . ROFLMAO!!! maybe I can take the sex parts out and salvage the plot-NOT. LMAO!

I wanted to write fiction without the use of the slang words. Something sexy, without going too over the top. I find I am not as articulate as I'd like to think. Its humbling, or perhaps I don't know how to straddle the line between the gutter and surface. The way I was brought up, is there is no such thing as sex, and if there was you can't talk about it. That's why they call it "the nasty." We don't call this the "dirty south" for nothing. ASIDE: Let us see if this joke was worth telling.

I also wrote a prose story about a domestic relationship turning sour in the summertime. If that doesn't sound like a tart of a tale, I don't know what will. This one is very unsexy, and rather bittersweet. I love it, and wish to go further.

What the Freak? Rated G!

So I'm that goody-two shoes blogger. Let me play hopscotch while I sing. We're having Bambi movies going on, and some other inane crap to work with because I am going down when I get a freaking rated G. That hurt my feelings a little. Now I gotta go sit at the kids table again. We're serving vanilla ice cream, and singing nursery rhymes. ;-)

Like, " No Duh"

Mingle2 - Free Online Dating

Well, Well, Well

So, I woke up for class, and I was not feeling it. While not late for class, I missed my chance to eat a breakfast. Learned a lot about Nan Jun Paik today. He did video installations and sculpture. Have to go write a one page parer on him, so I need to bust that out tomorrow or Saturday. it's due Tuesday, and I know if I do it on the weekend, I will have time to edit it. Yeah. Go me!

I need a latte, BTW, for not having one for a couple days.

I am now entering my faux Professor X phase, as I noticed many people assume I have telepathy. People have talked to me as if I read minds. I love that they think I'm special, so I take it as flattery, as oppose to the insult they have brought to me. Anyways if I was a telepath I've be wealthy, because I would literally know every body's secrets, and I would blackmail all the wealthy people. It would be like a kick in the crotch for all those who have the funds to keep their secrets secret. This is why God never gave me telepathy.

Chante Moore - It's Alright

Stacy's Sorting Hat

OK, I really don't have a sorting hat, but I do have a school, and classification to think about. Furthermore I need to look at what classes I need to be on top of. Really, I want to make a list of classes I need to get on top of. I need a plan so I don't put too many similar classes together, and feel that strain of boredom. So far the art history class is the great ice breaker. I may take the next one next summer. I know I don't want another one on right after that. Not to fear, I have an English class lined up. Next will be a core class. I don't even want to think about when I take two classes per quarter.

Working...

Multi-tasking can be tricky as I try to line up my work, and get some stuff done proper. I am working on my writings (fiction and non-fiction), my artwork, classes, and my job. Yes, I am busy. Yes it will pay off in the long run. Yes it give me great pleasure to do it all. It's like that, and I am grateful to God for positivity in my life. It's up to me to remember that I do have plenty of good to focus on.

Took some pictures of some of my older art pieces. They have to be edited in Photoshop for cropping, and a real paltry attempt to adjust the coloring. I used the camera on my phone, and the lighting was not so cool. Decided it was better to hold off before posting them. I rushed my Photoshop adjustments. I am refusing to filter them because I want people to seethe images without the special effects.

Writing Once More

Started volume two of my comic. It's been tough, but I am breaking things down by the scene, and working from there. This second scene is so involved that I am obsessed with completing it. Yes I am, and I love being in the thick of working the details out. Its one of the best challenges I face as a writer. I love it. The fist scene to me is how I want it to be, and really needs minor adjustments, therefore it can be left alone, for the first draft.

I am thinking that if I get no contact from the publisher on July 9th, I will reclaim vol. 1, and hold onto it until vol. 3 is completed. I will reformat it to be a three-volume graphic novel. I did vision my idea as a trilogy, and each volume was self-contained. I am nervous and excited. Go Me!

What To Do...

My mind is in a million places, and I need a couple of days off for sure. I crave rest at this point, and next week should be stress free. When I get home, I need to eat and then relax, that's all. I can't write when I have this hyper of thought.

Eddie Murphy is Mel B.'s "Baby Daddy"

Oh, wow. I suppose congrats are in order for Eddie. A friend and I were talking about this. We wondered why Eddie would deny paternety in such a public forum. OMG it was like he called Mel B. a ho, without saying the word. I know she was hurt (at least I had the feeling she was). I know in love (or out of love), some people can get real insensitive, but damn. What he did was so cold, I felt brushed off. LOL Again, for the sake of the child, I hope this can be gotten past.

50 Cent & Child Support

According to this article, 50 Cent pays $25,000 a month & household expenses for his child. The mother of his child says its "not enough." Wow. That's a minimum of $300,000 plus a year. Since this has been made public, I wounder how the current money is being used. Will the Mom have to produce expenses and explanations.

Not hating on either parent, but I wonder if they would make statements about this. For example, is it about the son having access to the finer things in life, and a future, or perhaps simply more money. How much money would even the scales? Say $50,000, $75,000, $100,000 per month? I am also curious about the child support laws, which can vary from state to state. I guess my fascination goes beyoun those two. For the child's sake, I hope all support issues are resolved.

Fancy Alarms

This is one of those days when you set your smart (digital) alarm and go to bed. I have also resolved from checking my clock at the first crack of light. After all, I DID set the alarm. Here's what I did that was wrong: I forgot to adjust the frequency of the alarm. It was neither set to "one time only'" or "week-ends." As a result it would only go off during the weekdays. Needless to say, as I decided to open my eyes anyways, because it was felling like I was sleeping too long. I saw that it was far later than planned. Rushed to freshen up, put in my contacts, get dressed, and on the road.

The Writing Fool Returns

A while back I wrote scripts for various different stories/projects. Why don't I reclaim them and work them to their conclusion? I pose this question, as I am having images of each series in my head, asking myself "what happens next?" I am going to write them out, of course. yeah, I'm looking forward to me making time for my fiction.

Gotta Stop (Loafing About)

I'm taking this class on contemporary art (700 lvl), and for the first few classes its been interesting. At the very least I have a clear impression of why the art changed from the traditional mediums to something more experimental, and confrontational. I have more reading to do, and other tasks.

I have been working on a cast list for a sequel, and writing down info for some new projects. Its been slow, and I want to devote more time to writing, and I know I can get it done. I do have more errands to run, but I'm going to have to place things in a certain order, or else I will be in trouble.

Steak Dinner

I sure would love a steak dinner. Steaks marinated overnight, cooked, well done (that's right) with sauteed veggies, with wild rice, and mixed veggies or a loaded baked potato and some baked garlic bread with extra Swiss, cheddar, and mozzarella on top. Dare I dream of such delicious a meal prepared with TLC by the chef? Dare I? 'Cause we can do this, dammit. We can do this!

What If...

My creativity was all about the art, no pretense of anything? No attempts to cater to anyone by the work itself. What if I surrendered to my muse, and did not shy away from what I have done? What if it was horrible or stark along with the beauty. I guess I have to have faith and find out. Right now I just want to do my thing and be happy.

My Needs

I am so feeling the need to write some things out, other than my blog. been putting it off for a while, and sorting through the schedule upsets and changes (which are still changing). I so want a few days of REST. Been having ideas, and I need to see them to in print. Hello pen, please meet paper. Somewhere in this mix I have to get my reading assignments done.

Whoah

Ok, I got real busy today. Woke up for classes. I can only say I should have gotten some coffee on the way up. OMG I was early, found parking, had some OJ, and ate my breakfast in my car. Stopped by the bookstore to grab two books for class (although online it said only one book was needed, and they were way too pricey for used books.

Went home, and realized I had an hour of rest. Set my alarm, and decided to close my eyes thinking I was not going to fall asleep. I fell asleep. I was awakened by the phone, and spoke with my Mom. I got my power nap. LOL It was so good. I still want coffee, and may go get me a lattee. Why? Because I want one, dammit!

40 oz. Smoothie, Sandbags, & Cell Phones

The ambitious fool in me decided that a 40 oz. smoothie was worth tackling. What the heck was I thinking? I have been running to the bathroom so many times within the last few hours, I thought I might have to wear Depends. The sad thing is that I could easily do that again (drink the whole thing, that is, not the adult diapers). No, I don't learn so easily. lol

Found a restaurant in Savannah that actually de-veins their shrimp. OMG I can now eat shrimp again from a restaurant. I can order shrimp fried rice once more. I'm gonna do my happy dance, cause I can't eat the shrimp with the "sand bag" still in them. YUCK! YUCK! YUCK! That grit between your teeth. I disgust myself with the thoughts.

Thought about getting a new phone, but I'm holding off. Y'all know how it is if you switch phones in the middle of your bill cycle. All I need is freaking prorated charges. Oh, they make the newer ones look so sleek and sexy. Also, I know my carrier will want me to upgrade my price plan, and therefore extend my contract.

Busy Again

Yesterday I found myself getting up very early to take care of some errands, which was shorter than expected, but productive nonetheless. I did have time to come home, take that cat nap, and feel good about the rest of the day. Ordered dinner (Chinese), because I didn't want to cook. I didn't even make the breakfast I wanted (pancakes). Blame it on enjoying the moment. I do know i don't have to cook today.

Doing laundry today. Hopefully I won't have to spend any more quarters today. I had two loads of clothes. In spite of getting more quarters, I suspect I will need more for the upcoming meter feeding I will be doing for classes. :-( Work should be fine. I only need to feed the meter for an hour, but its always a costly hours. Two hour meters are the worse.

Running Game

You ever been in a situation where you know someone's trying to deceive you, but you don't have proof? Yet, in your heart and mind, you know that person(s) is trying to run a game? Knowing the person can look you in the eye and pretend to care about your day. Imagine if your suspicions were validated. That can feel like Christmas. No, I am not imagining things, someone is going around with the foolishness. Even better is when you feel so good you don't have to call the person on their bullshit. You know how small and petty they were being, and its time to move on. Makes a weekend sweet, no? Mine sure is.

Storming Cats & Dogs

Yesterday, while at work, it stormed cats and dogs. The wind was on the furious side and could force rain under one's umbrella. Needless to say I was like I hope it calms down because there is no way I'm driving in those conditions. Of course it did, and on my way home there are always road diva who have to speed in wet conditions. I had to be extra defensive in driving. I know I can't stop on a dime, and I loath a dumb ass who drives so quick to cut in front or weave through traffic. I'm trying to get home, not get mangled over some moron's lack of control.

Overthinking

Sometimes I overthink things. No need to elaborate. I need to do more. I have writing ideas.

*grabs pen and paper to write things out*

A Writing Theory...

I am simply wondering if I could make comic book stories based on fine art. That is to say the subject and emotive quality comes from fine art/ideals as opposed to hero/villains. Mind you, I love a good superhero title. I want to try some different things. It means working on topics outside the scope of what I am currently reading. I am so digging on the idea of fine art and sequential art merging. Let's dispense with the consequences. This is planning and theory.

My Fess Up Moment II

Well, who am I?
I am an artist with the desire to be free of all things that constrain me.

What do I like?
I like being creative, and daring. Don't need nobody to tell me what to do or how to feel.

What do I want to do?
I want to paint some pictures and scenes. Try new things, and forget the nonsense.

I am rebelling, aren't I?
It's never too late. I ain't made for nothing.

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

My Fess Up Moment I

I thought I would never post this. I'm rather embarrassed, and consider myself to be very vulnerable about this topic, but I think it's worth it. Please bear with me. If anything, I hope to purge the negativity from my mind, body, & soul.

Today I was talking with one of my students, and showed her the scant amount of art on my blog. She's a painting MFA major. I am contemporary writing. I wanted to get into painting, but was rejected, along with 6 or 7 other colleges. I was not made for the academic painting MFA program, or they were not progressive enough for me. Either way that crushed my spirit. I really took that to heart.

I showed my student some of the graphic design work I did. She said to me, "you don't have to work at the library, you can get a better job." She's right. If I believe I am a great writer & an artist, why not a web designer? Why don't I see myself for who I am?

Only a few people know this, but as a child, while in school, I was told constantly I was "stupid," and "not worth anything." Coupled with being 100% uncool, I really became who teachers and peers said I was. I felt stupid, in spite of reading literature, mythology, and comics as a child. It goes on, but I prefer not to dredge it all up. Needless to say, preteen, and teen years were AWFUL.

Somewhere inside my heart I still feel unworthy in spite of knowing and living contrary to what they said. I have to find a way to get over all the BS people put on me, because I know I'm not that person, and they were wrong.

How much change can I make for myself. I really need to see myself as I really am, and not hold onto the bad perceptions.

If It Smells Like Horse Pee Outside...

Yesterday went outside, and I was like, damn it smells like horses peed all over the streets. OK I love downtown, and the historic district, but you have to be careful where you step. Horse carriages are all over the place. No sooner that when I got to my ride, I kept hearing a splash, and mind you it didn't rain, and there was no random hose in the middle of the road spraying water. Looked around, and saw cars running through this puddle of water, but that ain't water. Right in the crosswalk too. Ugh! Ugh!

OMG I just felt sick. I purged it outta my head by time I got home. Darn hot, muggy summer day and horses. :-(

Mary J Blige- Be Without You

What I Want From My Art Part 2

God did not make any of us for nothing. Proactive lives are what we should aspire to. Sitting back and waiting for change is no longer a luxury I wish to indulge in.

What I want from my art is the chance to explore. Find the quality in readings and images that I have often sought from other artists & writers. I am all about working harder to be the writer/artist I wanted to be. Not for others, but to express myself. I know that there is strength and power in us all, and its not wrong to demand quality out of our lives, and in the products we consume. We are more than the future. We are the trailblazers.

I encourage all of my friends to aspire to a proactive life because life is truly too short to waste on the foolishness. We are strong, beautiful people, and if we don't work on ourselves, who is? We deserve the finer things in life. We can't fail if we keep up the hard work. I know I will be sacrificing much, but I know that if I don't do the hard work, I will never go anywhere in life.

What I Want From My Art Part 1

I was thinking about my projects, and how unfocused I have been. Granted, there are various outside elements grating on my nerves, stressing me, and I haven't been feeling well, but I have never stopped creating. My crafts have gotten minimum attention, and that, to me is wrong. It doesn't help that I have trouble focusing often. Being grounded (focused) is hard work, and I always come back to what I love. I would like to be more in my element. I have power here. I have satisfaction that is deeper than my job (forgive me work studies I love y'all, but my art is at the top of my list).

Initially, my foolish mind told me that I was too indecisive, and that I can't pick one project to give attention to proper. I was so wrong. Someone once advised me to be proactive in my work. That is stop waiting for change, go out and get the project done. It doesn't matter if I make a list or not. What I need to do what I get to work. Prioritize my actions, and make them work.

Taking stock, I am about to jump into my MFA program, and I'm feeling doubtful. Doubtful of my skills as an artist and a writer. What happened to me? OMG I let myself go without a fight. Let go like a whisper in an empty theater. That's my fault, and I am learning from my wrongs, as well as my goods.

It's like I didn't put my MFA portfolio together (29 pages of written samples, when I only needed 20, thank you very much). Well, who wrote it? I did? Who showed their ambition to secure the goal. I did. I can't keep doubting my gifts. One day I may find them gone, wishing I had used them when I had them. I am more than capable of doing it all.

TUNGRY

I am so tired and hungry, thus I have created a new word, "tungry," to describe my situation. Working early is nice, but my internal clock is so off, and I have my projects, which are being sidelined as my body and mind have yet to compensate proper. Its chaos on my nerves. Coffee ain't doing a darn thing for me. I need to quit playing and hit Starbucks up for a latte. I do. This coffee is like sissy weight in the stimulates category. ;-)

I have learned that I can be extra pleasant in the morning. I answer calls so kindly, not that I haven't before, but early morning tends to bring out some things in me I like. The customer service training I once had, has made me automatically greet people with empathy and care. What the heck happened to my grouch morning personality? LOL It took a hike.

Need to line up my projects proper. Type them out, write them down, but they need to be organized.

EDIT: I took Clariton this morning because my eyes were burning ,as were my nostrils. This may have made me more sluggish, as it always does when I reintroduce it to my system. My eyes were on fire this morning. So much on fire that I was afraid to put my contacts in, as the tough of the lenses irritated my pupils. I hate my allergies and their lack of timing.

I was ready to call in today, because without the contacts, I have no true visibility. Can't drive in that condition. Fortunately all is well, and the Clariton is doing its job, and making me tired in the process.

Busy Litttle Bee

I am doing some research for a series of drawings I'm working on. Yes, I know, I'm insane for starting yet another devote time to project, but it makes me feel good, as opposed to that blank, do nothing feeling life can bring on. This includes writing more stuff. Yes it does. I need to write more. I feel it in my bones, and I have to put pen to paper.

OD'ing on Mary J. Blige. Initially I "lost" my My Life CD and Share My World when I moved. I broke down and bought them again. So now I am all on those CD's like a cheap suit. Something about Mary's voice and personality that has evolved into a mature, beautiful woman. I feel compelled to listen to her music.

I Must Be Feeling Good...

...I felt the strong need to blog. Did much handwriting out ideas for stories. This reminds me to email a good friend. I have been feeling blue with work stress, but I am so over that. I prayed for God to give me the strength to get rid of the negative thoughts. I have to thank J for listening to me vent about that mess. LOL The drama has left me. Prayer and good friends rule. I'm gonna run off and do my emails, and write out some more ideas because I so need them written as opposed to sulking and wishing I did them. I may even cook today.

Thanks God. Thanks J.

This Week In My Life...

...Has been trying. OMG where do I start? What do I give away, or keep inside. I am purging my mind body and soul from the dramas of working, personalities, and crazed-out neighbors. This weekend was made for me trying to chill. Otherwise I will retain the drama, and explode. That's not going to happen. Yes, I'm vague, because I can't put it all out there. I also don't want to put this shit in other people's heads either. Foolishness.

A Dose of Craziness

Yesterday I wanted some chicken, and decided to hit up the fast food place. Spicy chicken of course. Y'all know I like a little heat, and mild can be very wimpy. LOL Here's what happened. I drove through the drive through, and noticed the front side of the store had rain damage. Here's the worst part. They were propping that side with some planks. Planks! I was like what if it falls onto an oncoming vehicle or patron? I would have taken a picture, but i feel like It was too embarasing to post.

Where Was I...

It was one of those days. I managed to get the paperwork I needed completed (than goodness).
Trying to make some files in Excel. I'm so not good with that. You just know it. There was a power outage. That's twice in six days. Not my idea of a good time. I want to eat something, then fill out some more paperwork (more importantly), put it in the mail. How else am I gonna get it to the right people.

Tired

Woke up extra early. LOL I loathe that. Should have ironed my clothes the night before. Felt so lazy though out the day. Did lotsa work. had work added to the menu (will sort that mess out tomorrow). The fur is flying in a bad way. Had a Whopper and some nasty onion rings for dinner. I'm going to lay down until its time to go to bed. Lets hope a good movie is on or its Batman Begins on DVD tonight.

Today Is...

A little dry. Fell asleep watching the Tim Burton batman movie. I liked it, but I wasn't so into it. it did bring back memories. I was in high school when that came out. Spent last night looking at CSI: Miami. Hadn't seen that episode before (love my "In Demand" features). All I can say is that in crimes, a lot of it seems like your friend is setting you up for the fall. Damn. No love for your buds in crime fiction.

In two weeks I'll be back in class. I am nervous and excited. ohhh this is going to be an event. I hope I enjoy it. Art History is a class I don't care too much for, but is necessary.

National Punch An Emo Day :(

Funny

Fun With Power Outtages

The power went out on me last night. A large section of the south side had no power. News says it was a "spark and heat" that caused the outage. Why is it that when the power goes out, it feels like the sun does this massive retreat posthaste? It got dark so fast I thought Savannah Electric controlled the sun as well. Damn, I was getting it for a low cost too. Now I know what people are talking about when they say their bill is sky high. ;-)

I was safe in my place. I had candles, & flashlights. Got me a cold drink before the ice became water. Well, no internet, no television, no anything. I do need to buy a small, battery operated radio. Something for emergencies. I did manage to handwrite some paragraphs out for my short story. Yes I did. I promised myself to keep working it until I get an ending. No more "go backs."I was lazy and neglected to charge my phone. Luckily I have a car charger for such emergencies. :-) Should have charged the ipod because it was so darn quiet. My Nintendo DS had a charge, so I played Mario Kart & Meteos to pass the time. Of course, my hands are too big for the controller, and they get cramped. :-(

Uh-Oh, my other neighbors are having one of those "love to hate you" spats. He's so loud, its embarrassing. Does he really have to tell her to get The f**k out in the pouring rain?

Of course power is on now. :-) Yaaaay. My food in the fridge will not get spoiled. I feel exhausted. I wanted to clean my place. There is always tomorrow. That is what I said about charging my iPod, y'know. Life lesson?

Exausted

I went to work, and did my thing. Last day of the quarter, and its been on the rough side! People rushed in to return their books, and it was overwhelming. Worked solo for the night, which was rather ugly because I don't multi-task three floors so well solo. On top of that, some of the people didn't want to leave.

I Can Work This Out

Decided that I needed to expand on a comic book short story I was doing for an anthology, but was stalled. Going for four issues, and hoping to get at least the first issue done this weekend.

Wrote out some dialogue/script, and expanded the cast list. Discovered my initial cast list pales in comparison what I wrote in the script. Let me just say, it pays to complete the story then go back sometimes. The initial cast list is a guideline.

I have been longing to expand this story for my own purposes. I want to have a additional story to work on, while I work out the other volumes for the six issue series. This story is getting interesting. I intend for this story to be just as good as the first series I was working on. :-) It gets me all excited to write. I'm such a little kid with my writing. LOL Everyday could be Christmas, sort of. LOL

EDIT: I have another scene that's been in my head for a while, and I need to get it on paper. It's about a confrontation that two characters have long needed to have. I am so relishing this scene because in spite of not writing it when it first popped into my head, I swear, its as fresh as when I conceived it. So relishing this moment, and this scene. I am ready to call some peeps and pick their brains for some info (research). Yeah, it's that important to me to give the scene some impact.

Write Now...

I started writing s'more, but I lack focus (again). I'm too rapid fire. And I have a lot I want to do. my blood sugar dropped, and now I am truly spazzed, and lost for thought. Not the best time for being creative. It's quite a draining. Ate some crackers real quick. May need to eat a couple more to get me going.

Decided to work on the novel again. Thought I had a unique name, until I Googled it, and found it was as common as my first name. LOL I am so humbled bu this. I did spell it different, and found that there is even a place with the same name, so I am like, I am not as clever as I though. I know I can change that.

Began looking up other names as well. I may keep the name, because this is the second one I looked up and found it was very common. I think I can work it out.

My Trilogy

Started thinking of a follow up to my comic book. I really want to work on this. I have to write out an expanded character /cast list, and to work on the direction further. Some notes wouldn't be bad.

I saw a clear flaw in the story. One of the lead characters has become perfect. He is safe from harm in any way, and that has annoyed me to no end. While I admire the struggles he went through in the first volume, I cannot have him being omnipotent in my trilogy. It makes him uninteresting as a character. I love that he was likeable, heroic, and clever. The changes he goes through have made him tougher, but in order to keep him likeable, I'm gonna have to work on who he is.

Some of the other characters have had major changes as well, and a few of them are not ready for the pain and changes. Oh, I am so excited to work this out. No, the characters are not published, but I want to finish the trilogy still. If I do, get it published, it will be the icing on the cake at this point. I truly love resolving the character issues and the process of writing/revising.

Writing Update

Did like a little amount of writing. my desire for ice cream was in the way. Darn it. Thought about it all day at work, when my logical side said that one bucket of rocky road is roughly the same amount for a little cup of ice cream at the parlor. What waste any more money? Tomorrow I will get me some ice cream.

I forgot to by some nacho chips, and my made my chili already. What the heck am I supposed to eat them with? I am so mad at myself.

Got my oil changed today and I was relieved about that. I needed to get my biz handled, and I wasn't on top of that. Now I am, so there. life is good, until another bill appears. :-(

Cleaning For the Summer

A funny thing happened to me, when I got home. I felt a need to not be online and felt the desire to connect with other areas of my life. I want to watch a movie, cook my dinner, read a novel or two. I need to write more. I have neglected my writing. I need to make it a top priority, as I don’t have to be online to write.

Cleaned a section of my living room late last night. When I walked in the door, all I saw was clutter, and I was upset about that. Made myself pick a section, and it was going to be organized before I went to bed tonight.

Handwrote out some paragraphs for my short story. I realized I made one terrible flaw, I kept trying to “fix what I had currently written, as opposed to keep writing. I may not like the ending, but with no new material, I am simply over editing. Luckily I wrote out some new material, but I have a feeling that I am making this a multipart story. Perhaps it is the beginning of some chapters. I won’t know until I add some new paragraphs.

Picked up some unofficial writing assignments. Long story. Needless to say, they have to get in line, because my mind can only hold so much.

Ummm...

Why don't I like Beyonce's "Get Me Bodied" song? I like some of the other ones, just not that one. Alas, it was not meant to be. I don't like Kelly Roland's song either. Am I having a Destiny's Child burnout?

Ordered an outfit online. I decided one pair of pants, and one shirt would suffice. I wanted to see how they fit, proper. After one of my work pants decided to yell at me. It screamed, "get your fat ass outta me!" Yes it did. I felt like the Incredible Hulk, about to rip outta the pants. Darn it.

Well the pants and shirt are fine. I think I may go up a shirt size. The pants are black, and the shirt is a banana color stripe. So I look like a pale yellow bumblebee with rich black. Now I have to plot my next purchase. BTW this was not done on credit cards. I waited until I had the money for it. I do want a red shirt. The pants can be any color. Something dark blue. These are for work anyways.

A Brother Be...Hungry

So I’m watching sci-fi channel, and noting the many awful, awful original movies I’ve watched. When I say awful, sometimes I think the writer could have pulled a better story out of a dung heap. They are bad. LOL

Well, I know I could out bad, the bad writers, so I decided to create my own concept. I texted it to my brothers, who thought it was funny. Then I thought, why don’t I expand on this crazy concept. Well, now I have a real crazy concept to work on. All I can say, sometimes a bad idea is a good one, because now I have a crazy story to work on.

I am constantly writing, drawing, sketching, blogging, forums, & text messaging. When am I not creating something?

Tomorrow I said I am gonna cook. Chili to be exact. Gonna try some smoked jalapeno tomorrow. Hope the ground beef thaws out. A brother be hungry.

Go Me, Baby

I'm forming ideas for my drawings. I have some ideas for figures, in places, and need to do some more research. I need for things to gel. Its extensive in its reach for ideas. I need to buy more paper and Conte Crayon too. Conte makes the world better. Yes it does. Michael's is so expensive. maybe I can order online form the Dick Blick catalogue. I can buy the art supplies in bulk.

Wrote out a page of my script. I need to write another tonight. Y'all know I love two pages as a minimum. I want to work on the prose story. I have this idea, well, I know it will be cool, but its gotta get typed, or its doomed to stay in my head. I'm feeling mellow tonight, and hope this feeling keeps for the night.

Tickle Me Emo/Elmo - MAD TV

Becuase it made me laugh.

Changes

Whooo, going in multiple directions with the art and stories. I feel I am on a roller coaster, as I am truly excited about drawing again. I need to get more writing done. H got me a sun images/photo worth looking at. I checked out some figure guides I thing will help me with the images.

I'm going through some emotions. Debated whether to post my ice cream experience, as it's been rather distressing. More importantly, I'm trying to not hold onto the negative emotions. It's best to cast away bad vibes. On the other hand, I need to confront the things that piss me off, and squash them. I'll let it mellow overnight, and if I feel different in the morning I will post the experience.

I Should Be Writing

I should be writing, but I don't feel like it. Don't want to do anything. Rewarded my laziness with a chocolate chip cookie. Yes I know, cart before the horse, but I couldn't say no. "Cookies is the new crack," y'all. Did do a lot of research for my drawings and for my short story. See, I'm not all lazy. I'm hoping some music will get me into writing something. Now I'm simply singing along with the music.

I got to do something tonight, because I got my eye on ice cream. That's worth two typewritten pages. No?

Grindhouse Trailer- FULL LENGTH

The movie’s gone, but I loved it. It was good, sleazy and quite breathtaking. For the squeamish, it would have bothered you. For me it was a good time, and the audience reactions was a one of a kind experience.

Sketching: The First Steps

So I have decided to draw again. I picked a theme and work at on in the images. I want to do at least twenty drawings in pastel, because, that's what I need to do. Mind you, sometimes one drawing can take days, so I am in for a long trip. This is fine by me, as I love a challenge. I do want to thank Aggie, Shisho, and Michale Tyzack for inspiring me to get my art on. Its one of those chain of events things.

See, Michael passed away, and he was the head of the studio art dept when I was an undergrad. This made me look at my art more. Shisho asked about my art. Aggie saw my artwork and asked me why don't I do more art, or at least get into a gallery.

For those not in the know, my artistic spirit was crushed when I applied to 5-6 grad schools and I was rejected by all of them, even SCAD, where I am now a graduate student (contemporary writing-MFA).

Well, I made some sketches, and I have a theme, and I am going to work it. Much like writing too, I need some references. Some details for images need to be worked out. I may post some of the sketches after I do a more solid composition. Right now they are so abstract and so rough, its best to let them stay away from sight.

Well, Well, Well

I don't feel like doing much at all creative. Its like I hit a slump. It's like when you're full and you want to leave the table, and to eat more is to invite gluttony in. Ugh. I will have to do the dreaded just do one full paragraph route, because I need to get stuff done. Maybe I need to drink more water and clear out all the bad gunk. Wash that sugar right on out. I will start now. :-)

I could use some music too. Maybe later, when I am undisturbed, I can get down to business with the writing.

Silly Me

A while ago, I wrote out some pages for scripts, and thoughtof late that I will likely never use them. What I realized is, that they fit into the current stories I've been working on, so why not combine them proper? Of course changes will have to be made, but I think I am onto something, so here we go again.

This doesn't help out my prose story, which i need to show some love to. So many things to do.

Saturdaze

Still writing, still breathing, still working on things to come. Decided I would be completely lazy today, which is a mixed blessing type of deal. Want to catch the season finales of certain shows, which I will do shortly.

I made my pot of chicken Alfredo. OMG it is so good. I was so concerned about getting it right. I made the chicken for it like two days ago, so I was good with that. Made the sauteed veggies and the sauce. I can't do the jarred sauce without jazzing it up. I added butter, red pepper flakes, salt, half & half, Parmesan cheese, and a little nutmeg. 'Xcuse me, I just got a mild migraine. I need to take something for it.

*Gets Aleve & glass of water*

That was NASTY. Side of head was throbbing like mad, and what will happen next is nausea, if I let it. I forgot what I wanted to post. I LOATHE when that happens. I'm gonna chill with a movie in bed.

Writing Update

Handworte out paragraphs for the prose story. In the midst of thinking of scenes, I got some research to make some more authentic ideas. I have even more ideas, as one sentence of dialogue I thought of on the way home changes the story in a postive, yet provocative way. My desire to be free of my own censor has yeilded some interesting results.

In the midst of writing, I had a scene for my mini series. Someone suggested adding a new chapter/issue, which was not a bad idea. I got to thinking though, what if the character was relating this story to someone. This of course spawned pages, and had me thinking, I should make a sequel, six more issues. Yes I'm in overdrive.

Tomorrow, I am hoping to post the first of the five "writing heroes." I wrote several out last night, and I hope to get a litte research in there. On a interesting note, many of the people I selected from were women writers. I did not recognise this until now. Fascinating.

My comedy project, needs a boost. I have some ideas, but I need to introduce a good scene, and my mind is stalling, but I need to end the stalemate. If push comes to shove I will make myself write two pages in there. Why? I need to keep writing it, or it will fall to the wayside. All this, and I need to cook & clean tomorrow. What? A brother gotta eat , and he can cook his meals.

Five Writing Heroes

My challenge for myself this month, and beyond is to find a minimum of five people/creatorts whose writing I admire. Afterwards I have to write at least a minimum of five paragraphs as to why I like them, or their work. Why? Well, why the heck not. I keep saying I like writing, but what do I read? This is me exploring my own ideas. I challenge any readers to a variation of my exercise. Any medium will do. I will have to research them some.

Plucked From the Vine

We all have one. It’s that voice in our heads that tells us not to do certain things. In my writing, I have found myself having a very LOUD censor. He’s a nitpicky bastard. Think CP30 a little louder, and more prone to give his opinion whenever he sees fit. Yeah, ugly, right.

Needless to say I am having some rough times with my writing, as I have been trying to get my act together, and write things worth writing, and not simply repeating ideas I have read before. This is where the censor comes in. He hates my ideas. He thinks I should stay within the confines, however, I know I don’t have to. I am trying new ideas, for better or worse. Some of them make me so nervous, and are certainly a risk. I feel it’s a worthy risk, as I know that some of the ideas are raw, and I am willing to pluck them from the vine.

So let me say that I wish to remove the censor in my head from his unflinching guarding of my comfort zone. He gets to retire gracefully. His annoying self did his job. He is a part of me. Needless to say, it was I who stopped myself from exploring my own horizons. For no better reasoning, I feared the unknown, and what I am capable of.

Pulling Cards & Yanking Chains

Have you ever had to bust somebody out for trying to be a jackass to you? How about in public? I mean among the screaming, bratty kids in the mall, or the grocery store, you had to pull that card? Yes, pulling the card, because some people think your life is a joke. You know you're smarter than what someone is thinking of you. You know people are tripping, but you need them to get with the program, right?

Not that I enjoy blasting people, but if you didn't call them out, they would keep working your nerves. How much disrespect are you to take off of anybody? That happened to a family member, where she was trying to be helpful, and the person wanted to be cute and said some hateful things in front of other people. Now the cute one got called on, but I told my relative, you should have pulled that card so bad that it would have been the complete end of that line of thinking. I'm talking about dressing down someone who has the gall to treat you poorly, when you're doing good for them.

My own horror story is with a family member who is literally trying to take the food out of my mouth to support his own indulgences. He and I are having that talk this week-end. All I'm saying is if you want to act a donkey, I can treat you like a donkey, and I don't kiss asses.

I've noticed that when I am kind to some (not all) people, they think that kindness equates weakness. They never see the tiger in me making that bold move. They never realize that I had feelings, as their words were blunt. A few metaphorical maulings, and some people knew not to take their issues out on me. There are times when it is necessary to show all aggression.

The Poet In Me

Working on a new poem. Decided to hold onto it, and working out the words a lot more. Playing with the ideas, trying to make it better. May post it later tonight, or tomorrow. Whenever I stop making additions/corrections to it. The poet in me is alive, and kicking. Glad he put in an appearance.

If you want to see some of my older poems on my blog, click here.

The Quick and Dirty

I gotta get offline and get myself together before work. Made some chicken steaks (chicken breast fried like steaks). They taste so well, but they are for my chicken Alfredo, if I ever get around to cooking it (not today). Otherwise it will be wild rice and baked beans. I ain't picky, but I love some good jazzed up Alfredo sauce. Trust me, it is so good.

Hope to write some more. At least two more pages of the prose story. Keep myself going. Making myself write, even if its not good. Heck, this is first draft, and its allowed to have some lame arsed parts, so long as I get it completed. Then it can cool off, and I can tackle it on draft two. Gotta work that writing. Have that story screaming. Say my name short story. SAY MY NAME, BITCH!

New Self-Portrait

I wanted a new picture for the blog. It's been a drwn out moment since I last posted a self-portait. Like so many self-pixes, I used Phtoshop filters, as well as some adjustments to the colors.

Getting My Act Together

My graduate school class is a month away. I'm taking one class this summer, Contemporary Art. I so loathe art history, so I am making this a challenge. I charge the instructor with making this class worth taking and staying awake in two days outta the week. NOTE: I placed the responsibility on the instructor, and not myself. The hallmark of a false start.

For those who don't know, in my undergrad days, art history was a sleep fest. OMG, the instructor turned out the lights, showed them damn slides, and spoke soft, monotone, or both. I hated art history because I felt that I was being made to study some of the most boring shit the instructor could find. Mind you, some of it was fun, interesting, and scandalous, but only a little bit of it.

This will be a good challenge for me. I will turn this class out, bust it with a "A," and have people asking me about "how you did that?" Why? Because I love a good challenge, and nobody, and I mean nobody or thing is stopping me from getting my MFA in Contemporary Writing. Recognize that I am getting my graduate act together.

Shout Out To Kat

A shout out goes to my girl Kat. Her father passed, and I am so sorry.

Get a Damn Job!

OK, no names here, but a certain slacker has been busting on people trying to get them to pay his way. If we weren't family I would drop kick his butt into next year.

I'm tired of saying "get a job," or "go to college" to the slacker. I have gone to great lengths to help him. I was ready to place a few calls for some jobs I knew were open, and he could get them, if he applied himself. Let me tell you, he turned my help down. OMG, I'm telling him its a start, and the people are good. He doesn't want it.

Remember when teachers would say you "didn't apply yourself" on your report cards? Only my report cards? Darn it, you know what I mean. ;-)

Part of having family is being there for each other, but now I am at that point where I'm underwhelmed by his desire to not do a damn thing for his welfare. The slacker is so ungrateful, like we (the family) owes him. Last I checked I wasn't his father. Last time I checked, he was older than me, healthy, and always on the go. How the fuck can one be on the go all the time with no damn money?

Irons In the Fire

Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, I am keeping on with the writing. The muse is striking like lightning, so I am like all for writing, while the irons are H-O-T. Alongside this lovely script that I am working all the kinks out, I developed a short story that is six pages and going strong. I so want to see where the short story is going. I have no idea. All I know is that its exciting to read and not let go of so easily. I am itching to know what happens next. LOL

Fortunately, for the night, I stopped at a point where there is this new vision of a scene that I will be glad to do the two page minimum requirement tomorrow. Its these things in life that I love working on, and derive serious satisfaction. Many other things, that are supposed to make me feel good can fall by the wayside. It doesn't hold a candle to feeling inspired to write..

P.S. When I sat down on my break, I realized that I did not bring enough tuna salad, in spite of having some lettuce, and some tomato slices. I should have brought the Ritz crackers. :-(

At the end of my shift I was hungry. Fixed that when I got home. ;-)

Writing Fool & Loving It II

Worked on my comic. Went further in chapter one than expected. I only wanted six pages, did eight. Came to a bit of a roadblock. I need to add a new scene with some newer characters to broaden the scen some. Hadn't figured out what to do, but I will work that out, as there is more to do, and I have a lot of dialogue that I need to make sure fits in chapter two.

Had this idea for a novel. Decided to write out the scene, and came up with a page. I need a second page, as I like to have a minimum of two pages of written material. Simple, yet efficent rule for me and writing. For those who don't know, I will write at least three pages, but I make myself do the two minimum rule so I don't abandon the idea so hastily.

Made tuna salad for dinner. This took longer than I thought, but it tastes good. Gotta go back to writing the novel idea, and will hit chapter one up again later tonight.

Writing Fool & Loving It

The new project is going well. Worked on more pages than I imagined. I want to finish chapter one by tomorrow evening. I have to run a couple of errands, tomorrow, and I am excited about working on this. I should have made a grocery list, as I wanted to purchase a few things.

Having dinner with some friends, so I hope to spend some time away from this project, and it not be a bad thing.

The ambient radio station I like is acting up. I am so upset because the music soothes me. I'm trying the "Dirty House Music" station now. Good music, but I want my soothing sexy music back.

Let's Go For It!

My latest story/project I'm working on. Think of it as a madcap super hero affair full of foolishness, violence, and scandal. My goal it to make a humor based title that allows me to indulge is the absurd, and fun. My goal is to make it fun and funny, so readers a good laugh, with a mild dose of violence. Don't think of it as light hearted, because some of the issues aren't. It will have some dark humor, and some funny moments though.

I injected so much serious stuff in the first five pages, that I'm nervous the energy of the book will change. I don't have a complete first draft yet, so I'm worrying over nothing.

This will be a six-issue mini seires, twenty-two pages for each issue. I don't even know if anybody would be interested in reading it. I, however, would love to complete the work, as I love to see a finished product. Again, I'm trying to stay true to one project, give it the best commitment, so that it gets completed. the other projects will have to settle for me writing notes, or a paragraph here and there. No telling where this will lead, as classes will start next month. i worry too much, before the storm arrives.

One Step At a Time

It’s been a few days since I wrote something. Believe me, that’s not because I’ve got nothing to say. I have been putting my writing into a new script. Traditionally, during the weekdays, I give it at least twenty mins of time. I want to devote more time to it, as I have a certain amount of dialogue that needs to be placed in the script. I am thinking this is a six-issue story as well, but I don’t know where it’s going yet. I’m in that uncertain stage. It’s hard to explain, but more needs to be written. For the most part, the protagonist is the antagonist as well. All I can say is I am so confused.

I did make a pact to not jump all over the place and make the current story the priority story to work on. I do need another story, as I intend to do a shorter one for a different publisher. I have yet to decide on what to do next, but I have two scripts that I can reclaim and expand upon. I’ll be fine if I expand some of the ideas, but it is backburner.

Catching up on CSI, so I have to take my work in front of the TV. I am blessed because I have done a lot of work already. This is why I don’t write and watch TV most of the time.

Yesterday

Yesterday was one of those days where it was a little lazy, and the sky looked as if it would pour down on me. All I could think of is how my car needs to be washed. Guilty as charged, because my car needed a bath. I shame myself.

Watched Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Usually I select a DVD to watch as I go to bed. Since I have seen both like multiple times, there’s no chance of me having a sudden urge to see what’s going on. Watching them awake has been fun. I am excited about seeing more movies I’ve seen dozers of times.

The battery died in my car remote, and I decided to replace it on Saturday. Of course, I didn’t know what to replace it with and I was so silly because I never had to open the damn thing. I eventually did, bought the battery, and moved on. Life is good.

Began to participate in a forum debate on Wonder Woman. I admit to looking forward to it, but I am hesitant, as I think the open dialogue broke down to where I am finding the debate to not be pleasurable. What to do? Move on, though it was an inspired thread. I am glad for that. Perhaps a renewed try tomorrow?

I still have cheesecake in my fridge. I ate a slice. It was delicious.

Out The Corner of My Eyes

Y'all, I was chilling on my bed, watching movies (flipping through the channels really), when out the corner of my eye I noticed a spot on my blinds. Ignored it for a split second, until my mind told me that I don't have a dark spot on my cream colored blinds. This spot gained my full attention, as the dull glow of TV light was not enough for me to see it clearly. I kept hoping it was a speck in my contacts BTW.

extreme, I don't Turned on the light and saw that it was a big moth or something like that. It took only a few seconds for me to move from my bed, grab a shoe, and smashed the hell out of it. Yes, it seemedeven know when it got into the house, but I knew it was dead from the moment I recognized it.

If your Girlfriend or Boyfriend looks like a Tauntaun…

…Odds are they are a Tauntaun. What the hell were you thinking? For those not in the know, this is a Tauntaun (NOTE: its not the men in the picture). Much like the Wu Tang Clan, a Tauntaun ain’t nothing to f**k with.

What kind of drugs, or space debris were you smoking? You can’t even put a bag over that head. Is there one big enough? C’mon that’s why your friends never met her/him. What does that tell you?

You know you’re not taking that home to meet your parents. They’d disown your dumb-ass, burn your childhood pictures, and skip town. They wouldn’t do an intervention on you, and they don’t think you can bounce back from the horror that is your mate.

They need an intervention on themselves. They’ve failed you. You can’t even pick an ugly man or woman on your own. You picked a damn Tauntaun. You need a bag over your head too.

If you go on a blind date, and the date happens to look like a Tauntaun, put the nearest bag over your head. Demand to go back home. Take a long shower, and burn the clothes you wore out that evening. A real friend wouldn’t have set you up like that. Watch the pranksters in your clique. They will mess you up to get a good laugh. Put a scarlet "T" on all their clothes. Let the world know they messed with Tauntauns.

*Paid for by the don’t mess with a Tauntaun committee. This is a blog joke. Please don't take it serious you Tauantaun lover you.

Contempt...

Ever had it for someone or something? Watch it turn into gold in my hands, as I think of some dastardly things to create. I love creative writing.

I brainstorm people...

Big, Big Burger

I brought a whimpy frozen dinner with me to eat. After three hours of work, I was already hungry. That whimpy dinner wonldn't do it for me.

I went to the local burger joint and got myself a burger, fries and a sweet tea. Yeah, I had a big, big, burger. I'm not hungry anymore.

Wishy Washy

Today is a wishy washy day as I realized I change my mind so often. I don’t even care that I do. What am I committed to? What matters the most to me?

I go through lotsa emotions, mood swings, and my own creative bouts of inspiration and hunger for new stories. Got one now, that is forming, and demanding time. She needs to be written soon, and her story set free. I love this idea, and would love to see it print. It’s gonna be a challenge though, as I sense pain and torment in this one.

Watched Magic Users Club (anime). I remember this one, and it was funny back then. It’s still funny. I find that the mix of foolishness and magic goes well together. So I find myself in love with an old show.
