Feeling a bit blah today, and didn't do much of anything. Decided that I should write something, be it on the laptop or in my notepad. Perhaps a little of both today. I really need to get on the ball with things. Spend way too much time online goofing off yesterday.
Tonight is left over spaghetti and salad. I dunno if I will make anything tomorrow. May just pull stuff out of the freezer.
Decided to watch The Two Towers. It's my background movie today.

Pastels and Hulk
Played with the pastels while watching the Incredible Hulk film last night. It's pays a lot of homage to the TV show, and does not really tie into the first movie. I don't know if I like what I did with the drawings. Both images are unfinished. I shall post them when I'm done. The portait stares at me. LOL I feel compelled to work on it tonight.

F is for "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"
I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall this weekend. It is a laugh out loud film. I didn't think I would like this one, but I found myself laughing out loud at several moments of this film. I love the Dracula opera song. The film in a film stuff is great. That parody of CSI is drop dead funny. It's really so good silly fun. Some people may be uncomfortable with the male frontal nudity (shown briefly a few times), but it really works in this film. Symbolically it suggests a physical, mental and spiritual nakedness and vulnerability of the character. Ultimately a freedom the character possesses. Jason Segel is a brazen and smart actor. I give him his props.
Mila Kunis' character is so likable and spirited. I remember her mainly as Jackie from that Seventies Show. She gets to be a lot more mature, and contrast Jason's emotional character. Russell Brand's rather sexually charged rock star persona is hilarious. Even his sweet, sexy ballad is raunchy. It just hurt to laugh so much. See it/don't see it. It's up to you. Taste is mildly subjective. I know I had more than a few good laughs that I needed. Linked the web page for those who might have a passing interest.
P.S. Beetlebum will kill me for not mentioning Kristen Bell, so I have to. The Crime Scene parody made me laugh so hard. Also her ability to entangle herself in relationships is interesting. I liked her relationship with Brand and Segel's characters. The I Hate Sarah Marshall blogsite is so funny!

10,000 B. C.

I decided to go see the movie. Something of a treat for myself. Check out the website for the movie if you're curious. The movie was ok. Not Earth shattering, but nowhere the horror people were trying to tell me it was. It's really a "coming of age" story, where the young warrior learns courage and leadership. His people are taken to be slaves, or course, the woman he loves is one of the captured people.
I loved the giant chickens (terror birds). Real aggressive for their meals. Sadly not enough of them in the film, not enough saber tooth tiger (that sucker was HUGE) as well. It was like they were union, put in their parts, and dipped off.
There is a slave revolt in the movie. it was worth seeing. None of that we must suffer all through the movie and nothing happens. They kept whipping that African, and he was waiting for the signal. When they gave it, that slave whipping dude was toast. Kinda wished they spent a few more minutes on dude getting his ass kicked.
Worse part, the near ending. Girl dies, and is magically brought back to life. Very, very weak in my opinion. Wounded I could accept. Still more terror birds were needed for me! I had fun.

Simply My Saturday
Nothing much to write here other than dial-up sucks so bad, and I am tired of trying to be patient. Trying to watch Scary Movie 4 and finding it some of it filly, and some of it bland. I suppose the only thing left is to watch it through. Hoping to watch MirrorMask afterwards. Watched two episodes of Escaflowne last night. I want to see more.

Transformers Movie

Watching the Transformers movie on DVD and enjoying it. Any part of the movie that annoys me (95% of the humans parts) can be skipped. While watching, I spotted one very glaring flaw. Bumblebee's legs are blown off, but he's been holding the Allspark in his hands. Frenzy was only near the cube and has his body restored. By accident, in Sam's hand, the Allspark creates a robot out of a car wheel and a soda machine. Somehow the Allspark can't (or won't) give BB back his legs? What kind of plot hole is that? Not that it will be rewritten, but damn if that doesn't look bad.
For that matter, why does the ethnic Autobot have to be the only Autobot that dies. It's like some old school horror movie standards were in place.
I must say anytime people don't capitalize on how cool Megatron is until the last half of the film have missed the potential the character has. How many years has Megatron been on ice? He's still able to beat the shit outta Optimus Prime. Talk about mean as hell. I was waiting for some real OP can of whoop ass, but shit had to be where he wanted to sacrifice himself for the good of the universe (UGH). Great Prime, leave that raving maniac with no one able to be a direct threat to him, while you go off to cyber Valhalla. That plan was soooo last moment, or prime has a secret Joan of Arc fetish.
I do like the explosions, and when the action was moving the film. Yaaaay x-plosions.

The Phantom Menance
I remember telling myself to not buy the Phantom Menace when it comes out on DVD. I had forgotten why I did that. It's playing on HBO and now I remember why I hated this damn movie. How I loathed Jar-Jar Binks. I even hated little Anakin Skywalker. Darth Maul was too cool to live past this movie, as was Qui Gon Jin (name still sounds like a fancy drink). What was with those aliens who sounded Asian (or had fake Asian-esque accents)? Why is R2-D2 there? Nothing seemed fun about the movie.

Tired
Woke up extra early. LOL I loathe that. Should have ironed my clothes the night before. Felt so lazy though out the day. Did lotsa work. had work added to the menu (will sort that mess out tomorrow). The fur is flying in a bad way. Had a Whopper and some nasty onion rings for dinner. I'm going to lay down until its time to go to bed. Lets hope a good movie is on or its Batman Begins on DVD tonight.

Today Is...
A little dry. Fell asleep watching the Tim Burton batman movie. I liked it, but I wasn't so into it. it did bring back memories. I was in high school when that came out. Spent last night looking at CSI: Miami. Hadn't seen that episode before (love my "In Demand" features). All I can say is that in crimes, a lot of it seems like your friend is setting you up for the fall. Damn. No love for your buds in crime fiction.
In two weeks I'll be back in class. I am nervous and excited. ohhh this is going to be an event. I hope I enjoy it. Art History is a class I don't care too much for, but is necessary.

A Brother Be...Hungry
So I’m watching sci-fi channel, and noting the many awful, awful original movies I’ve watched. When I say awful, sometimes I think the writer could have pulled a better story out of a dung heap. They are bad. LOL
Well, I know I could out bad, the bad writers, so I decided to create my own concept. I texted it to my brothers, who thought it was funny. Then I thought, why don’t I expand on this crazy concept. Well, now I have a real crazy concept to work on. All I can say, sometimes a bad idea is a good one, because now I have a crazy story to work on.
I am constantly writing, drawing, sketching, blogging, forums, & text messaging. When am I not creating something?
Tomorrow I said I am gonna cook. Chili to be exact. Gonna try some smoked jalapeno tomorrow. Hope the ground beef thaws out. A brother be hungry.

Grindhouse Trailer- FULL LENGTH
The movie’s gone, but I loved it. It was good, sleazy and quite breathtaking. For the squeamish, it would have bothered you. For me it was a good time, and the audience reactions was a one of a kind experience.

Movie Day
Granted, I am tired, and I have been watching silly movies today. Tried to sit through War of the Worlds, twice and failed. Not interested, which is odd for sci-fi and me. Nothing was clicking for me in the story. Watched Silver Hawk, a martial arts super hero flick starring Michelle Yeoh. It was silly, but fun. I watched most of it, but I'd seen it already
Spent so much time at YABS today. If was fun time so I don’t feel bad about it.
Wrote nothing today, which may change if I stay up. This blog entry should count for something, and my forum postings.
OMG my scalp is drier than paint chips. Gotta wash it down, and break out the conditioner. Can't be going around scartching my scalp. Looks on the gross side of life.
No plans for tomorrow other than to finally sit my tailbone down and do my fafsa form. Its long overdue, but since I have no plans, I better work that out.
Speaking of grad school, there are some kinks in the road, that need to be smoothed. I am hoping to get this managed before the fall quarter starts or I may be S.O.L. This worries me a whole lot. I will elaborate one days, as sometimes talking about it still upsets me.
Bought a cheesecake that has been so good, I do feel guilty for taking a slice. Its real creamy, and melts in your mouth. All I can say is it was a good buy.
