I am going to be doing some more writing, so I am supposed to do less emailing this week-end. I am starving also. I want some chinese. Maybe Generals Tso's chicken or stir fry. Maybe I shoud simply cook me a meal.
Pest control did the spray in the kitchen today. It has that awful smell now that burns my nose. LOL. I need to stay outta the kitchen for a while. No cooking for me today. ROFL
I gotta clean my bedroom. The place is a mess. Let me get to business.

I’m Still Breathing
Writing’s crazy. I have an outpour of thoughts I was blessed to type; however, I need to edit the typing. It’s a crazy, mixed up experience that has me going to a destination unknown. I love the progression I am making.
Finished a second draft of a script for my short story for a comic book. I think we have our own unique, creative property. The story itself is dark, but humorous. My collaborator/artist pal gave me a cool compliment. She said it reads like a good Vertigo comic. I am so on cloud nine from that compliment.
I have a new script to work on. It’s a sci-fi adventure series I hope to type sometime this weekend. I hand wrote 13 pages of the story. I also rewrote some of the dialogue. I need to get to type it. It can become a full first draft for chapter one. It’s got four parts. I hope it l get it done soon.
I need to list my ideas as well. Put them on a schedule.

Today Is Like...Cool
I'm having a mellow moment. Made some sweet tea. Its so good. Can't have too much, its potent.
Blew my grocery budget I went over by $36.00 which is not bad since I restocked my fridge and cubbards. I was thinking of buying pizza, but changed that plan. I spent too much money already.
I did make a couple of steaks that melted in my mouth, that was as good as I can make it. I sauteed mushrooms, red onions, red and green bell peppers with it. OMG I love cooking for myself.
Made spareribs for the next few days. They are good and fresh. The meat falls off the bone. I have outdid myself. I will make burgers at the end of the week or week-end. After that its chicken.
I bought a lot of mixed vegatables. They were sauteed in butter. So good.
My only complaint was that the mixed vegies was like almost all carrots. What was up with that. The package said mixed, not 95% carrots.

Stacy's Dreams
These are some of my goals. I dream of this day, and pray to God it happens for me.
1. My own house: Not renting. No more apartments. My own home, with lots of space.
2. All my bills paid on time.
3. A solid retirement plan. I have a retirement plan, but I want to improve on that.
4. Money to spend, if I so choose without having to take from my bills.

Goodbye Teen Titans

I was on the fence about this title, but now I feel like I’m gonna give it up for good. This is sad to me, because this title, and me we have a history. Also, I wanted to give new artist Tony Daniel a chance. His work is good, I do miss Mike McKone as the artist, but hell, he’s off the title and I dealt with it.
I should be surprised, but I’m not. I am disappointed, because I paid to read this damn comic.
I want to like this title, I really do, but after a few moths of some very bland stories, I want to walk away, and I will.
Quite frankly, the stories seem overly simple, and boring. I feel so uninterested in any of the characters. BTW please let Cyborg get his own mini-series at least. He’s the senior in the title, and nobody seems to do him justice.
I can say I didn’t like the Titans Massacre that happened. I don’t know. Evil Superboy is rather bland himself, and his power level is oddly flexible. Yes he’s psychotic, but boring. (NOTE: A once noble and good Superboy from another world became psychotic, and either killed, maimed or crippled several reserve members of the Titans while somehow unable to do much damage to the real Superboy. -I didn’t make that up)
I admit I have some seen some interesting plotlines. Wonder Girl’s power up by Ares was fascinating, as was Jericho’s return, and where he’s been hiding. Raven’s return was cool. Brother Blood was semi-interesting.
I am so done with this title. Maybe somebody will let me know how the title is doing. I may pick it up then.
I am very disappointed because I love writer Geoff John’s JSA series. I have a great time reading it. What the hell happened? Oh, Infinite Crisis happened (don’t get me started on that story-ok I will do it tomorrow).
Bye-bye Titans. I might miss ya… Maybe.

Busy…In A Good Way
Wow, I didn’t expect my writing to blossom in the way it has. It’s been a pleasant, thrilling ride. I am very thankful to have my creativity working for me. It is one of my strongest assets.
I am, as last post stated, collaborating. While working with my friend, I decided to work on a script I held off on. I hand wrote 13 pages, but left it alone, thinking I didn’t have any direction. Now I tell myself, “just type out a few pages, and see how I can adjust and correct the draft.” I am very excited about this prospect.
The novel is still going. I am still writing it. I love building one the characters and situations. Is shaping up to have many gothic horror elements that I did not anticipate. I love this direction.
I have another short story I need to shape up, because when I reread it, I was into it like, “I wrote this?” LOL It’s a college story about living, falling in love, and having a friend who is a campus ho. I have got to complete this.
I have at least four more short stories that need my attention, and one story that keeps expanding itself. Don’t ask. All I can tell you there is more to the story and its not short, but involved. Call it a story centers on fine arts and a possible relationship.
I have some new ideas. Mainly some spanking new titles. If I have a title, I have a story. These will be placed on the backburner for the moment.
There are more ideas, but these are relegated to “hold.” I will likely scribble notes in my notepad. I am very excited. Soon I hope to write I got published!!! I want that six figure book deal. ROFL
P.S. My blog is something I LOVE writing. I hope to keep it going. Its my best non-fiction work.

Blah Day
I have a splitting headache. I think I am having a caffeine withdrawal. No lattes for days on end. Now my head hurts. I don’t even have any cola in my house to calm my nerves. Its been water, Sprite, or Kool-Aid.
Such is life I promised myself that I would limit my spending, and I did. I never thought it would hurt me this way though.
For lunch I had more meatloaf and some steamed vegetables.
Worked on my collaboration with my friend. I got the first draft of the script out. She should look it over in a couple of days and get back to me with feedback.
Stayed up late last night. Don’t know what that was. I know I should have been out of energy and ready to sleep, instead I was bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Great Day For Me
Tonight is mellow. It feels great. I worked more on writing. I am glad I wore something. I was going to be totally lazy but I told myself at least two pages, I did four. They need revising, but part of writing is revising. So long as I keep up the work, I will be fine.
Waiting for Ghost In the Shell. Decided to watch “Leviathan.” “Predator” and “Robocop 2” are on as well. After that its Van Helsing (DVD) and I am off to dreamland.
Made a meatloaf. It was good. I punked out and made french fries instead of mixed vegetables. LOL It was all good with ketchup on it.

Quiet Week-End
How I love to loaf about on a day that has me not having to wake early. I will work on my novel. I promised myself at least two more pages this week.
Not much going on this week on forums. Looks like I'm not the only one online. LOL Peeps doing other things.
Here's to all not being overworked!!!

Plagarism Rears Its Ugly Head II
Here is the final result of this fiasco, as mentioned earlier. Check out the amount of the book deal, $500,000, AND optioned by Dreamworks studios before the scandal. The link is in the title.
For the record, I am speaking about author, Kaavya Viswanathan, who wrote, "How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life."
Imagine, a half million bucks to work with. I'd be out of debt and smiling all the way to the bank. LOL I would have some great vacations too. All fuel for my stories. There are some legal issues here too. The author has breached her contract.
I found another article. It can be viewed here.
I find this fascinating for a few reasons. The first, being that I have always wanted to be a fiction author, second, I'm working on my own novel, and came across this news.
Wikipedia breaks it down like a pro. Damn the link is here.

Today Is Like...
I am awake, and I made myself some breakfast. Eggs and sausage. I so love a good morning. I love a full stomach. I gotta get to my writngs. I love being busy.
So today is good.
Last night was ok. Didn't have a stuffy day at work. No drama. Someone did lose a nice iPod mini. As expensive as those things are, I hoped they would call back last night. No calls to speak of. LOL I remember when someone left their laptop in the library on purpose. She called back a few days later saying I went out with my friends and left it there. She said it so casually. I was totally unemapthetic to her.

Potential Is Hidden Or Unnoticed
I kept wondering why I wasn’t on point with a few things, and then I realized I was busy. I created some new songs, and the jazz tune is bugging me like mad, because its missing a piece to it. Damn puzzle. I love a good challenge. I created two additional songs. One of them, I want to remix, like I was R. Kelly or something (minus the bad rep with under aged chicks-Don’t call me a damn “pied piper” of anything). This brings my total to 7 songs, 5 finished.
Research has pulled me to a new angle. I began looking up comedies, and farces. Expect something eclectic and offbeat from my mind. I see the human condition as my playground as far as topic. I seem to be breaking through my own doubts (progress is a true Godsend).
Came up with ideas for other novels. I don’t know if they are short stories or novellas, or what. I know they need to be put to paper.
Have my first comic book collaboration with a friend/classmate. She’s in sequential art, me, graphic design. We’re going to do something that’s along the lines of my thoughts: dark, moody, and on the scary side. I am so a Vertigo-minded writer, when I need be.
Working on a comedy-based hero story as well. If I can create a solid proposal, I can look for more collaborators.

First Day of The Month
Whoa, its the start of May. I hope most of the pollen is done. It hurts so much when the pollen is everywhere.
Work was ok last night. I noticed that many don't like to put dates on timesheets. I need dates on these theings. people act like that's so hard. I will send everyone an email, that lets them know to put the date you work or I will not submit your timesheet.
There is some drama about shipments. People confusing shit. I was emailed asked to ship an item that appears to already be shipped. WTF!!! I can't be emailed and told sombody else shipped it?
More work drama, but not involving me. Security guard and a staff member had a little conflict. I am so staying out of that. ROFL

Novel Progression V
I am doing some research to enhance my novel’s depth, and complexity. For those who don’t know, the novel is in the fantasy genre. I’ve done plenty of research, so far. I have been looking up names and meanings of names. This has so far, interesting.
I have looked up historical periods. Some of my own class work (history of graphic design) has been helpful in painting pictures of how knowledge worked and was spread.
I’ve discussed this with a friend, and writing out the characters and their relationship to others has helped form them. Also writing period slowly allows character’s build.
I have more revising and writing to do.

The Day Winds Down
Awww man, I was having fun relaxing. LOL Ghost In the Shell is about to come on. I like watching the show. A good mix of law enforcement, sci-fi, and animation. Enjoyed my night. May cap it off with a drink stronger than grape kool-aid. I have some Hurricane in my fridge. Time to pop that top mellow out more.
"Playing Shake It Off" by Mariah Carey. That's my theme song for all the BS that bother's me. A drink, and stacy's theme song is a fantastic way to cap off a night.
Had to take my contacts out, and give my eyes a rest. Put on my glasses. i so need to buy a new pair. That's down the line.
Called a good friend who I didn't speak to in a while. We chatted for an hour and it was soooo good. its nice to have a friend you can talk to about all the things going on. Called my Mom, who was also relaxing (runs in the family). She won't cap her night off with a drink, but she loves to relax. She's a nurse. I don't know how she does it. The woman's an angel.
STACY'S MOTTO: I will break free of all things that try to constrain me!!!!

My Day Off
I got up early to have my oil changed. After that i came back home and relaxed. I love a lazy Saturday. I made french toast for breakfast. made enough for tomorrow. They were soooo good. I may make fries for dinner. I'm not in the mood to make a full meal.

Birds of Prey # 92 & 93

When we last left the birds, it was one year later (company wide thing-it’s a year since issue 91), the Birds were trying to rescue Crime Doctor. He’s defecting from the Society of Super Villains (the union for evil doers in the DC Universe).
There are new agents on the case (along with my favorite agent, Huntress) Jade Canary (AKA Lady Shiva-The super badass of fighting-I think she can kill a man by staring him down), and Gypsy. She’s ditched the old costume (thank God).
Needless to say the Society wants Crime Doctor back, and go through great lengths to get him back. Crime Doctor is a master of torture, ask the Secret Six. The Society sends out their badass warrior to get him. Prometheus kicked Batman’s butt once. Good cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next issue.
Birds of prey is Written By Gail Simone. The Art is By Paula Siqueira and Robin Riggs.
Novel Progression IV
I got the urge to work on my novel once more. I began adding paragraphs and taking away some. I like the fact that I am moving forward. The story gets deeper, and feels better. I so love writing. Good challenge.
I hope to retype at least two pages. I’ll feel good about that. I can work on more tomorrow.

Two Weeks Without Lattés
Its my day off. What did I do? I went out for groceries. It was worthwhile. I made a budget of $40.00, and the goal was to stay with it. Even with adding chocolate chip cookies, and a slice of red velvet cake, I managed to say under my budget ($38.00). I am proud of myself!!!!! The cake is the treat for my good behavior.
Paid a few bills today. Mainly my cable, phone bill, and insurance. Tomorrow I need to get my oil changed. I’m still in budget with that too!!!
I cut out Starbucks. I was spending too much money on Hazelnut Lattes. Maybe I’ll get a small (“tall” in Starbucks terms) once a week, not everyday. That’s a big maybe too, maybe I can drop lattes for at least two weeks.
Drinking more water. At least two bottles during work as opposed to all the soda and Kool-Aid.
Work has been annoying to say the least, but I prayed on it, and promised myself that I will not partake in any of the games going on. I do an excellent job, and I like my shift. Some people are too disgustingly ratty when it comes to trusting. That’s life.

Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. Issue#4

The new issue's out. I got it in the mail (my first mail order subscription-purchased directly from Marvel Comics) . I love this series. Its as funny as hell. I don't know who's read it or not, but it was so enjoyable. I love the origin of the Captian. Boy is he a sad, twisted, and entertaining. Poor monica misses the action. The eveil cop-turned mecha is cool. What's even cool is how tabitha dismantles him by her lonesome. As usual, Ellie kills more of the HR dept agents (broccoli men-don't ask, enjoy its unusual concept).
Another thing I like is the series isn't bogged down in long and drawn out plots. Two issues per storyline. Not a bad model for writing. Its totally different from any other comic book I'm reading, and its a good kind of different.
Sith Bastard

I was scibbling on my calendar when he showed up. LOL Darth Vader made an impression in my head and showed up on my calendar. He was a scribble and nowhere a detailed image, but a funny image. So now he's there to stay, until I destroy the calendar.
I wonder who else will show up in the comming months.

Please Lose the Attitude
We send faxes at work as a courtesy. We send them at three hours. The only hour with relevance to my shift is 9:00 PM. This student comes in, and asks if we fax. I told him the hour I fax, and the guy had an attitude. When the four letter words start flying that's whent he problem comes. He wants his item faxed NOW. I started helping other people. Gave them the upmost service while this boy fell to peices. The guy storms out, comes back in and says he wants to fax his item but I need to make a copy of the material. I told him where the copy room was. We don't make extra copies. He wasd even more pissed. I left him alone to fill out his fax info and told him to put it on the desk when he was done. His material was faxed proptly at 9:00 PM, not a moment sooner or later.
People come in all huffy and shit, and want me to bend over backwards while they are cursing. Betta call your momma, see if she can fax it. Maybe she will burp you change you too.
Pleasantly another person came in and asked about faxing. All the while it was a pleaseant convesation. It capped off a nice moment in my day.

Adventures is Troubleshooting
Yesterday was fine until one of the urinals at work kept flushing. Called dispatch, who called maintenece. Maintence slipped in and semi fixed it. Water was on the floor, and they put this showercap thingie over the urinal, and it stopped flushing. I suspect the cap means it won't flush. I have the feeling there is some numbnuts who would still try to piss in that urinal. There are some NASTY, SLACK people who don't wash those hands after going to a public restroom, and head straight to the computers.

There's more drama on the work front. My smart-assed co-workeds decided to call our supervisor and tell her that we need to have a meeting with the student workers. Well our supervisor decided to mmake our job extra hard by addinbg extra steps to our interaction with student workers. Yes, the steps are completely assinine. It would require all staff members to micro manage students. Between all the things I normally have to do, that would be too much work for a solveable solution.
But wait, it gets better. My co-workers asked me to write a letter to our supervisor. Of course I was all fired up, but I thought about it. My name is the only one in this pot (to write this letter). I know these people ain't trying to set me up for a fall, when they went to the supervior on their own in the first damn place. I ain't writing shit. If they can can request BS when I'm not there, then they can open their mouth and get this shit done with. I am not putting my neck out on the chopping block when they are the ones who fucked things up. I can't beleive I work within a higher education system sometimes.
BTW, my students at night work flawlessly. I never have a problem. We have an understanding. Do your work well, no BS, and I won't breathe down anyone's neck (not that I want to). They are all adults. They're great students. I don't know what goes on in there when I am not there, but it doesn't matter. I am responsible onl for when I am there.

Bad Meal
My goal was to make some hamburgers. Good sized ones that were to go on the bun. To my surprise the meat wouldn't hold together as patties. The fell appart as I formed them. That was my first sign. Keep in mind I always use the same method. Two eges as a binding agent. I added a third egg. It bound somewhat togehter. I cooked them, and tasted a patty. OMG yuk. The texture of the ground beef didn't even feel or taste like ground beef. Admitedly I bought the beef from a different store than ususal. I will NEVER go there again!!!!!
I should have made the pork chops, wild rice and mixed vegies, or shrimp alfredo. I am so pissed.
I did make some good terriaki wings on Saturday. I will get some salad and eat that for dinner today. I am so mad about the burgers. I was ready for some nice homemade burgers. Live and learen I guess. No more Krogers for me. its either Piggly Wiggly or Wal-Mart from now on. They never let me down before.

Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.

What an insane comic. It's got great art and a high amount of silliness. Its also a fun read.
The series revolves around superheroes who rebel against their bosses to shut down the terrorist organization that has been funding them (without their knowldge, of course).
The team is lead by Monica Rambeau, who'se former superhero code names are "Captian Marvel", and "Photon." She's one bad sister, as she used to lead the Avengers, and is certianly one of the most powerful team members. Monica is one of the few African-American superheroes in the game. Up until now, I don't think she's been as fun to see/read.
The cast includes:
Meltdown: She can make things explode and she loves to steal things. She has an obcession with talking on her cell phone.
The Captian: Who forgot his real name. He's superstrong and flies.
Machine Man: His name says it all.
Elle Bloodstone. Supertough kick-butt monster hunter.
Dirk Anger: He's a super macho man with issues. I think he's trying to kill himself, and failing at it.
The art is stylish. I really like the style. The series looks like it could be easill anim ated. I notced the covers are collages, or at least designed on patterned paper. It adds a texture to them. A good book I'd recomend to anyone wanting break from the heavier material in other comics.
Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. is written by Warren Ellis with art by Stuart Immonen. Published by Marvel Comics.

Time for a Shave

I looked in the mirror, and saw how scruffy I looked. LOL I really like the look, but its time for the beard to go. Naturally, I got the clippers and sheared it off. I just know I'll let it grow out again. I look completely different shaved. Here's to looking different and so damn handsome!!!!!!
I can't resist me. ROFLMAO!!!!!
I did optimise and resize the Photos in Photshop and ImageReady. The beard pic has a color filter added since the image/light lost some of the color from my face.

I'm Sleepy (Already)
I so need a nap after washing and drying my clothes. LOL I feel like a cat. I could spend 80% of my day sleeping like cats do. It's up to the coffee maker to rescue me. mmmmm Maxwell House with hazelnut flavoring.
Its So Early
I am so a vampire, in terms of hours. I usally am asleep by now. Today is laundry day, so I needed to get up and get that done. Cleaning my living room. My father and brother are comming this week-end. I don't know if I want company, but since I need to get my fathger's cell phone replaced (its my acct), I need to get that underway.
Spoke with my younger brother. He's moving. I am very happy for him. He's so busy. We used to hang out all the time, but we don't see much of each other now. We call and text message each other from time to time. I miss having him around. I miss all my family, but that comes and goes.
Called grandmother, who was so pleased to have a call. She's funny sometimes. She obviously reminds me of my mom. Mom's fine. I miss her most of all, and her cooking. Don't nobody cook like momma. She's made some good food. Collards, field peas, fried chicken. I want to go home. ROFL I'll vist one week.
P.S. I'll never serve grits or liver in my house. ROFLMAO!!!

New Writing Project
Have have a Sci-Fi story I'm working on, I keep projects rolling. LOL This one will take me about 4 good weeks, if I maintain the course. A lot of its is writing and finding out about the characters, then revising as necessary. My novel is still on the backburner, but I need time away from what i wrote to get back into it.
Dug up some old stories on my laptop two of them caught my eye quickly. I will be revising those as the days pass. I am in rush with them yet, but I will turn those straws into gold yet. they are great stories. I belive in my writing. my work can only get stronger and more skilled. before the end of the year, I aim to get my stories published. The novel, I'd loved to have a signifigant portion done by the end of the year.
I'm a writng fool.

No More Boxes
This turned out to be a good day at work. Feed up with the box/package bs, I decided to email my supervior about this situation. I pointed out the major facts and flaws, and I was willing to go an extra mile for help, but its plain wrong for me to take on the full responsibilty of accepting all packages with sometimes time-sensitive material that may not get opened until the late hours of the night or a few days later, especially when packages come in during the day when I am not at work, or the days I am off.
My supervisor revised how things are being done. Now, everybody checks the mail on earlier shifts, and on the week-ends. I am more than pleased with this. I am so glad I decided to readdress this in an articulate, well thought out letter. I feel things didn't have to go to the negative reaction. beleieve me, I was fustrated, and thought that i might need to "go off," but I was wrong about that.
I have learned that I can be as effective with well-chosen words.

All Star Superman

By Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly. This too is a great read. This is a recreation of Superman. It doesn't fit into the regular continuity of the Superman comics. Its quite fun and imaginative. Also, I think because it is a seperate book from the other Superman titles, there is a certian amount of freedom. I must say its a very fantasical story. Very science fantasy.
It starts off with something fascinating. Superman is dying. This leads to a confession to Lois Lane, a getaway to the Fortress of Solitude, and Lois posessing Superman's powers for 24 hours. two interesting heroes, Sampson and Atlas make appearences (both characters are greatly strong, but both still wimps compared to Superman's power-fascinating)
I may post some of the interior art for y'all to see, but at a later date. I love the two covers I posted. :-)
On a silly side note moste people online abbreviate All Star Superman as ASS. Every now and then someone will say Grant Morrison's Ass. I find that funny.
The Bulleteer

This has been a great comic. It's part of the Seven Soliders line of comics from DC Comics. Lead character Alix Harrer 's husband, is obcessed with heroes, develops a process that bonds steel to human skin. He tries the process on himself and on his wife. He suffocates and dies. Alix lives. What follows is more than fascinating. Alix discovers that her husband has an alternate reason for his hero obcession (sorry, I can't spoil it for you). Alix tries to become a hero, and it leads to some fascinating adventures. The character is fascinating enough that I hope Morrison writes more stories with her. It's a four issue series. I scanned 3 of the covers for you.
Its written by Grant Morrison and art by Yannick Pacquette. Its a fun read. I hope she isn't one of the Seven Soliders who dies in the Seven Soldier's special. lert it be Frankenstein's Monster. He may be reviable. LOL
Budget In The Works
Its time to look at my finances and get them under wraps. I nned to keep things under control before I go get myself into a hole. I'm starting. We will see how things work out.

Turn Up The Drama
Hey,
I have a lot of work to do. As the supervisor, I have to make sure my students are doing what they are supposed to be doing. I am not there during the day, but its being brought to my attention that they are not doing their work, and are allowed to do nothing during the day. I am so annoyed with this. No matter what shift the students work, all complaints come to me. All I need is for the Dean to see our students doing nothing. I'll be emailed so fast with a stern warning about shaping them up.
I sent out emails letting all staff members know that the students need to be doing their assignments. If they don't have any work for students, I left some work for the students. Not mind and body draing work, but things that need to be done. I hope that there are no problems, but I have done what I need to do.

At Last, I Did It!!!!
I submitted my short story to Glimmer Train. I was so nervous about submitting. I felt I needed to tweak the story more and more, but I decided that it was a now or never type of deal. In other words I was finding ways NOT to submit material. I had to get myself out of that train of thought.
I am nervous about the story. Does it measure up to editorial standard? Will the editors like the material enough to publish it? What if its not what people want to read? It all goes through my head. I'm all nerves. LOL
Its a holding pattern now. I have a couple of short stories on the back burner to work on, and a novel to complete. I suppose I will be too busy to think about this one submission. Lets see if I can make two and three to worry about. Writing is weird, exciting, and so worth it in the end. Even if the story didn't get published, I am so glad I did feel confidant enough to submit it.

Sometimey Friends
Goodness,
I was thinking of some poeple I used to talk to all the time. I made an effort to call them back, and I was totally blown off. This isn't the first time. Its been a while now. After several attempts to call them and speak, it never came to be for some time now.
I am rather dissappointed. I thought they were friends, and I would be able to talk. I've know these people for years. I call them to say "hi, how have you been." Why peeps gotta be like that.
Good thing I bounce back. Forget them. After this post I say goodbye to my sometimey friends.
Bye bye!

Taking Photographs
Cooking
I just made some BBQ ribs that are soooo goood!!!!! To think I wasted money on eating out when I can make some good tasting food myself.
I was trying to cook for several days this week while I'm off. It will save me the trouble of trying to wake up and make meals during the workdays. I have some stir-fry vegies to make.

Fess Up!!!
I have finished revising my short story!!!!!!!
It's been trying. This is the one story I wrote that was very personal. I incorporated many elements from my daily life and living. After I wrote it, I put this story away. After all, who'd be interested in my life. I'm so boring, right? LOL
To be honest, this has been my favorite written story. It felt real to me when I read it back to myself. The story had heart and soul. When I wrote before, I was trying to write anticipating what other people may want to read. Its not that my other works of fiction didn't have elements of reality, but I tried to keep them distant and less personal. In many ways, I felt vulnerable. I opened a door that exposed me more than I cared to. That seems so silly when I think back on how much I loved the story.
I kept the story just for me. It was and obscure on my laptop. I decided to dust it off after moving to Savannah, and looking at all the items on my laptop. I still don't know who'd be interested in this story, but its as edited as its going to get.
Now I will submit it to Glimmer Train (literary mag dedicated to new writers). The waiting game will begin shortly.

I Miss Charleston
This is not a whinny "I wanna go back and live in Chucktown" post, but rather a declaration of needing to touch base with my family, friends, and my old stomping grounds. Its the makings of a road trip for me. That's how I feel at the moment. I will make sure to get my ride tuned up next month, so I can spend a few days with my family and possibly go out with my pals.
I have a headache. I need to drink more water. I had this caffeene rush after downing a java chip frappachino. I had to have the largest cup from Starbucks too. LOL. I needed a treat. I was so sluggish this morning, and I wanted some oomph to my day. I've been busy with all sorts of duties, so I wanted to have something on the rich side.
I love my life, no matter how bad things get, I have to take account that there are MANY good things that can happen. Thank the Lord I have so many blessings.

Be At Your Best
Yesterday was a work day. All was fine until we started closing the buildiing. I explained to all that we were closing, and the patrons needed to wrap up what they were doing and leave. Two people held me up. the first was a guy who said to me he couldn't get his disk out of the computer. I helped him. It was no problem. he didn't want to break the rules. he wanted his disk back. no sweat.
Next to him was this chick who was like "You WILL have to wait five more mins until I AM DONE."
For those who know me, I have an even temperment, so I kept my cool. I let this chick know that when I say we're closed, we are closed. No exceptions. She got pissed and left. One thing some people seem to miss is that I am in charge. I am the supervisor. I am responsible for the building. It needs to be closed at a specific time. You want something, you have to follow the guidelines. Otherwise you can speak to the dean after the public saftey officer writes you up and you have go before the dean to get back into the building. Your choice.
For the record, most people obey the rules. They understand when I say time to go, its time to go. What was funny is this chick was telling me what I was going to do. Furthermore she told me "I pay a LOT of money to go to this school..." What the F**k oes that mean? Are you throwing that in my face that you paid a lot of money? How does that work? I pay a lot of money to go to the school too. I am not impressed. ROFLMAO!!!!!
I sent my supervisor an email and the day staff so they knew about this. I have a strong feeling people like this come back, start crying and saying people are mean to her. I know my job, and I know that I HAVE to get the place closed on time no less. I will see how this plays out, or if it goes in a puff of smoke.

Is There A Doctor In The House
I am so going to the doctor tomorrow. I hate this feeling. I did get somewhat better. I am eating again as well as drinking juice. Went to work today. All was well. Busy, as usual, making the world safe for patrons. The day went by with a smooth feel good, less fustrating type of vibe. Lord, I love these types of days. I pray for much more.

Some Kind Of Wonderful
Been Looking back at some of my titles. Boy, my blog has become a downer. LOL Sometimes life takes me places I hate going. The destination is always the same, back on solid ground. That's God's blessing. He's given me so much. Thank you God for your love and support.
The current title refers to my 11 (now 12) pages of a short story. That's all I'll give away about my story for the time being. All I can tell you is that of all the stories I've written, its my absolute favorite story. its also the closest to my life I can ever get. I need to tap that vein again. I know there's gold there.

11 Pages/Getting Up From Under
I feel much better than I did yesterday. Finally ate something. I beleive if I ever get this ill due to allergies again I am heading to the doctor with the quickness. I felt like I had the flu, minus the nausea. I was bed ridden and weak. My temparture went up and down. I sweated so much.
before I felt ill, I did managed to have 11 pages of my short story completed. I want to edit the pages so that they feel more cohesive.

Allergies and Life
Yesterday was a crazy day. I have been dealing with allergy symptoms. My nostris drain, then get stopped up. At least my eyes stopped burning. Congestion was building up. I hate the change of seasons. I abolutely hate them.
I've taken my Clariton. I ususally have to suffer a few days by time the Clariton has a good effect.
Spent most of the day in bed. Had the best intentions to cook dinner, but I felt bad. I am now just eating something. Drank some jusice and hot tea earler. Need to get some more juice.

Living
I so need a break. My allergies are acting up something fierce. I took Clariton, so that helps some, but I feel so awful, and this building is freezing. Not a good combination. When I get home I will make myself some herbal tea, and get some rest.

The Blues
What is going on with me? I am feeling blue. Not life is overwhelming blue, but down blue. I could go back to bed at this poit. I HATE this feeling. I will get myself something to eat and make sure to take my vitamins. This week I have a three day week-end. That should help some.
My father was suspposed to replace his damaged phone. I told him about full retial price. He, however didn't realize that until he got into the store. He didn't even tell me this. I found out when I was texting one of my brothers. my dad does have my number. I can't worry about that.
I need to finish my projects. I am having a devil of a time dealing. My mind is literally fighting me. I need to clear my head. Whether I want to or not, I will be done with one of the classes. The other I will struggle with until Tuesday. Then I can breath a little.
I think I may take the next few quarters off. I am dealing with a lot and I feel a strong need to slow down before I totally crash and burn.

Stressing
OK, so the same old thing is happening at work. People still doing what they know best, and that's passing the buck. I can't worry about that. Finals are on me. I am trying to get my shit together, and my mind is all over the place.
I am having a damned hard time with my classes. The last few weeks I have not been able to absorb any type of info. Today I studied at the library. I found a queit spot and did as much as I can. Tomorrow will be the same thing. i want to work at this. I am very confused. I went through years of undergrad. I obviously have the learning skills. Just what's wrong with me?

Makes Me Wanna Holler!!!!
You know there is a time when things get all crazy and shit. I'm noticing packages labeled "Circulation Depatment" being delvierd to the office at work are left for me to open. I am also noticing some people have been very bold and placing said boxes on my desk. What the Fuck. I thought I made this clear. The boxes don't have my name on them. ANY STAFF MEMBER can open them. Why should packages wait until I get to work.
I requested that if I am to be responsible for said boxes, that that the senders put my name on the box, that way for sure I get the boxes. I do not want to be responsible for shit that anyone has access to. When we get another meeting, I will have to get this addressed again. I am really exausted in paitence about this issue. What makes people think that I am going to accept full responsiblity for something we are all responible for? Makes me wanna holler, but I'm not going out like that.

I Have a Friend...
I have a friend who took some meds for OCD, and it made her want to commit suicide. She OD's on some pills and had to be rushed to the hospital. Homegirl was a mess. She's having a tough time. Called her back to see how she was doing. left a message for her. Hope she's ok.

More Self Pix
Spiritual Storm Rising.
Why is it that sometimes I feel like I am not in control of my destiny? It is so time for a change proper. I sense a spiritual revolution brewing right now. I will be free of all things that constrain me. That is a promise!!!

Interesting Song Moment
Traffic Woes
OMG the traffic in Savannah is by far worse than the traffic in Charleston, and that's not saying much at all. People don't like using their turn signals, cut in front of you then drive slow for some reason. What the hell is that for?
Even worse, people like driving and breaking quick. You have to give them lots of space,. Don't bother switching lanes, some of the same people will switch along with you. What the hell, some are so distracted by their cell phone usage, they will block both lanes. One guy actually straddled two lanes. All kinds of dumb shit. At first I thought some were tourists, which would explain the slowness. its not tourists, its the regulars. the tourists drive at decent paces.
All I can do is laugh at this. No need in getting angrier anymore. I'll get over this fast. I am glad I don't have to go out again today. LOL

Chicken Tonight
I'm making chicken wings today. I need a vegatable to go with it though. I'm offf to the store to get me some vegies. Thought about a movie tonight, but I'll be way to busy with projects to handle a movie. Such is life.
Remeber that old jingle, "I feel like chicken tonight?" LOL What was the commercial for? I remember the jingle, and not the product.

BC Powder

Everybody remember BC powder? Headache relief. Tastes awful! They used to have, back in the day, a jingle that said "Tell your headache to take BC."
I was thinking, if one could you could tell your headache something, wouldn't you tell it to get the hell on outta your head and not to f**k with some god****** powder?

Insect Catching Time!
It’s a bright and sunny day. I caught some good ones today. I caught some different species butterflies, and a filthy, nasty cockroach (yuck!!!). You should have seen me trying to use the net. I was swinging through the air like a madman.
It’s all part of my Animal Crossing: Wide World game. It’s up to me to fill my museum’s insect collection (as well as art, fish and fossils). Also, I can sell to Tom Nook, who owns the mortgage on my home. I owe that raccoon so much money I may as well be working as for him. That’s part of the game too.
I have to keep the neighbors happy as well. That means mailing them, visiting, and running errands. On top of that, my house is critiqued, and I must maintain it. What the heck, I am a busy man. That’s my fun.
I am hopelessly addicted to this game. There is always something to do in my town. The Nintendo DS is a worthwhile investment on my part.

The Lover In Me/Whatever It Takes

Not too long ago, I expressed my desire to get these two CD's. of course, both were out of print for a while. When to Amazon.com, and found some used versions of them for lesser prices. I am so glad I found them.
The Lover In Me was from the late '80's. Sheena Easton had a lot of producers, mainly LA Reid and Babyface. Prince, Angela Winbush and Jellybean did production on this CD as well. So many great songs to listen to. I'll post a song list later.
Whatever It Takes was also late '80. This CD was very R&B/hip-hop influenced. Jesse Johnson did the most of the production (I gotta get his old CD's too). Its a stylish cd, and I missed hearing the title track, and Every Time I try To Say Goodbye. Again, i will post a song list later.
I am happy to share some of my personal joy. Disdain is so easy to write. Sometimes all i gotta do is go outside for that.

Green Lantern #9

I read Green Lantern this week-end. I love the character.
Green Lantern, my favorite super hero, joins forces with Batman this month. Together they fight a new Tattoo Man.
Tattoo Man is a totally crazed, freaky assasin. This not the original Tattoo Man that appeared years ago. This new Tattoo Man is African-American, and very derranged. Killing is mearly the beginning of what he does to victims. The relationship between Batman and Green Lantern is interesting, and is the main focus of the story. The two have an antagonistic relationship that comes to head at the end of the story with interesting results. There is a humorous spot in there as well.
Something I should note. Sometimes, when I read some Bat Man comics, the bat comes off as a jerk. He was very human in this issue. The man has his quirks and abruptness, but he wasn't a total asshole that he can be from time to time. I love that. Writer Geoff Johns has a respectable handle of the character.
A note goes to the part about Green Lantern politics. The conversation between Hal Jordan has on Oa is deeper than I thought.
I love the cover. Its very dark and moody. I like the storm in the background. I thnk its symbollic of the issues the pair have with each other. Good story. The interior art is awesome!!! I love the details of tattoos. The aliens look alien (not that they haven't before).
The isssue is written by Geoff Johns, and art by Ethan Van Sciver. The cover is by Simone Bianchi.

It's Been A Week
It's been a wild week. I am so busy every day.
I overheard some interesting conversations. last week-end this woman propositioned the Verison Wireless salesman in Circuit City. I am talking nasty, upfront "you will be in my bed tonight" type of deal. I was like whoa. That's some deep shit! Lady's bold as hell.
Speaking of Verizon Wirelss, I just paid my bill, and then my Father dropped his phone, and it doesn't work. Now I have to replace his phone. he is so paying for this new model. LOL He can't buy the phone and activate it since my name is on the account.

Mmmmm...Cheesecake!
Desert is strawberry swirl cheesecake. I didn't make it, it was store bought, but I can't disagree with the results...
Feels nice to produce my own dinner than to buy out. That slice would have no doubt cost me two dollars. Three slices could buy me a whole cake. LOL Remember those old word problems in math classes (how much more slices would Stacy have if he bought the whole cake)?
I want fried chicken next. It's never as good as Mom's. Its the next best thing though.

Gumbo Report
I got all the ingredients, and finally got it done. Yes!!!! Bought a rice cooker, since I scorched my last pot on the stove. Talk about embarrassing. I so miss a gas stove.
I think I put everything in there but beef. ROFL It tastes sooo good.
***UPDATE***
I am so full right now. LOL
That was my best cooked meal yet!!!!!! My family would be happy (and stuffed)!!!!

The Rub Rabbits

What a fun looking game for the Nintendo DS. its a dating simulation game. Its supposed to have a lot of mini games, and is getting great reviews. What makes this game so different seems to be the fact that it is a game sim, and the style. Its very colorful, stylish, and fun, fun, fun.
For the record, I love fun games more than any other type of game. I play adventure, and rpg's (I am so a geek-LOL), but games like this catch my eye. Sim games are great.

Overtime
Did four hours at work today. What happened was that someone resigned (gave two weeks notice and all). The admin forgot her schedule, and was missing someone for the whole day. I subbed in for like four hours. It felt good to dip in then out after four hours. I did do work. I faxed all the necessary papers, emailed some officials proper, and checked out books as needed. I could not do a full eight hours because I had a project I needed to work on.
I noticed a phantom cleaned my desk. Was it too junky? More or less unorganized. I am sure it was harassing someone. LOL
Oh, worked on my project. Its nearly done. Will add the icing on tomorrow. Also wrote out some essays for my class. Will respond to those tomorrow. I wanted it to have some marinating time, and be in my head. Had too much Starbucks today. I am wide awake. I got another hour and a half in m awake.

My Artwork

I did this a while ago. Because I took the pix with my sorry poor ass resolution camera phone, I Photoshopped it.
When I first started in college, people thought I was wasting my time with in art classes. I never had faith in my work. In fact, the best compliment my professor paid me when over my head. He said that my style didn't fit any category of art. I was different from all the other students who came through the program. It took me a while to figure out I had a unique voice.
Yeah I need to get back into the artwork.

Supervisor Adventures (Not Bad At All)
I'm a supervisor, which means I am responisble for other people. When something happens, I end up being responsible for it. I need to scheldue a meeting for my workers so they can get out any issues they may or may not have.
Noticed some people will not turn in timesheets proper. Will send an email out about that. Its just wrong!!!!! If they don't submit them, I can't approve them. payroll doesn't accetp them till next pay period. You gotta wait two more weeks before you get paid again. That's not good.
Have readings and project to complet before Sunday at midnight. I am gonna be so busy. Will start that in the evening.
Anybody remember the CD's "The Lover In Me" by Sheena Easton, and "Whatever It Takes" By Cheryl Lynn? I've been looking for those CD's for some time now. I've started with the used CD section in music stores. I saw a copy of both on Amazon.com. A friend of mine suggested Half.com, because she shops there all the time.

Thinking Aloud
You know, last month was all about job drama. I'm thinking that needs changing. Its all about my college career, which has been bumped to the side a lot. Its time to place the focus back where it belongs.
My mom may visit tomorrow. So little time to fix the place up. LOL Betta get it done.
Was in a purple mood today. Lots of Prince music today. I felt good about that. My iPod crashed. It stopped playing in the middel of a Cree Summer song.
I may need to update the software. I have tomorrow to work on that.
Playing "Signs" by Beyonce. That's my summer song. Brings back some late night memories driving home from work.

Josie And The Pussycats

Remember this cartoon? It was based on the Archie Comic book with the same name. I didn't know this, but character Valerie Brown if the first African-American animated character to appear on a Saturday morning line up. Valerie was the smart member of the group. She had a technical savy and the brains to figure out many of the solutions to the 'Cat's adventures.
When Hanna-Barbera was going to animate this series, they were going to change Valerie to a caucasion woman. Music producer Danny Janssen stuck to his guns to keep the character African-American. I give him mad props for that.

Tax Time
Ugh! I'm feeling sick already. Time to grab the W-2's and start weeping as I plug the info in, and see what I put into the sytem of taxes stay right where it was before (outta my hands).
Where does that money go? Who gets it? Who spends it? On what? Why the hell does someone who doesn't make that much money get taxed so hard? This is a nasty, vicious cycle. I know I have to give, and do, but sometimes I feel like there is a LOT of taking. Do people think I am made of money? My appartment still needs furnishing. I want to do this without the use of credit!!!
I had to get that off my chest. I'm gonna get me job that pays me enough money that my taxes won't eat me alive. A LEGAL job.

Classwork and Projects
No sooner did I become happy for the weekend did my work need to be compleded. For the most part, it was two small essays and using some of Adobe Illustrator's tools. The reading for the essays weren't hard, but time consuming. I wrote out the questions before I read, and took many notes. In fact I was afreaid of overwriting (first essay was over 200 words, I only needed 100). Neddeless to say some trimming was applied.
I am very scared of my Illustrator project. Why? Total lack of confidence. Like if I hadn't done what I did to submit the portfolio, I would not be where I am today. In other words, I can do the work. I need to encourage myself more often.

The Way Things Are
I am doing some writing, and its back to homework in a moment or two. I tend to write in spurts. I more than likeley need to drink more water. it clears my mind more. Oops. Forgot a soda in the freezer. Gotta rescue my soday before it pops. Get it? LOL I crack me up.
Now that changes are made about the job that turned into a much ado about nothing (hope that quote doesn't bite me in the ass like it did Oprah), can things go like smooth?

Sense of Humor Test
Your style's goofy, innocent and feel-good. Perfect for parties and for the dads who chaperone them. You can actually get away with corny jokes, and I bet your sense of humor is a guilty pleasure for your friends. People of your type are often the most approachable and popular people in their circle. Your simple & silly good-naturedness is immediately recognizable, and it sets you apart in this sarcastic world.

Phone Home Baby
Called my Mom today. She was resting. I tell her all the time to enjoy a day off. LOL. She stays so busy. It's good to hear that she's not so busy.
Sometimes I miss Charleston, SC. Their theaters are better. The regal here doesn't show half as much movies. its always the little things you miss.

Unresolved
The meeting left things more unresolved than resloved. I brought up all the points I wanted to make. My sup gave barely passible answers. I have a strong feeling I will be back at square one. I know one thing, I am NOT going to be rushing to open boxes that don't have my name on them. Other people are going to have to get off their buts and work that shit out before I get to work.
Have to make changes with my student workers. I don't know if that will sit well with them, but a lot of complaints have been lodged against students behind the desk. That sucks so bad. It does mean workers will have to a lot more work.
I can live with that. Time management is not my greatest skill, but I do well under pressure.

Clash of the Titans
Ha,
Today is meeting day. I am about to get ready for work. I am hoping for some clear thoughts and answeres. I have always been a dreamer. LOL Its me walking in the day of doom. ROFL
We will see how competant the head of the Hydra is. Of course there are multiple heads, and it may take Hercules to resove things. Perosnaly I don't have the faith I need to have to know things will be flawlessly positive, but I've prepared myself for anything. i will be asking a lot of questions, and I want some damn good answers.

Poochie-Love

This Picture is of my brother Sean's dog (he gave her away). Her name was Sapphire, but I told my bro that name was without pizzaz. I redubbed her Poochie-Love. Yeah, the name was sooo ghetto, but it had some oomph. Poochie was a hyper little pup (she grew within a matter of weeks). She wouldn't keep still and my cat hated her.
She loved to play and when I walked her she tried to wrap me with the chain. We never made it out of the driveway. LOL I took this picture. She has a pretty coat.
